LM*AO We just had our 1 year old sons picture taken at WalMart with this background!! I honestly figured it saved me the time of waiting in line to see Santa…guess now I just have to live with pedi Santa trying to get my kid…

Haha! I used to work at a Wal-Mart Portrait Studio and one day I was bored and decided to reorganize the book that we used to display the backdrops. I renamed the backdrop pictured above from “Santa is Here!” to “Santa’s Secret”. It made my day every time a parent requested “Santa’s Secret”
We picked this backdrop on purpose because of super creepy santa, cracks me up every time I look at it.
In a related story an amber alert was resolved peacefully when voyeurclaus was arrested outside of the victims home when his sleigh wouldn’t start.
And as soon as she turns around, there GOES Santa Claus! Poor kid. Hope she got a make-over for Christmas.
It looks like the sacra is going to be th other way around. Watch out Santa!
Some stores will do anything to avoid having to pay an extra employee!
My cousin did this to her kid, too. He’s terrified of Santa, but I guess she felt compelled to have some sort of Santa picture. Every time I look at the picture I want to scream, “Don’t turn around, Collin!”
This one is never awkward. It’s just too common. If it was a person and not a painted backdrop, it would be a different story.
my daughter took this same pick when she was a few weeks old. it was her first professional picture. i didnt even notice santa until my best friend complained about how creepy he was. strange enough after that i ran into several people who hated the background because everyone’s kid took this pick at walmart and kmart and it had the same creepy pedi santa in the window

There’s a horror movie look in her eyes. Combined with all the scratches on her face, and the hole in her ear, I’d say it’s more creepy than awkward, eek!

The fact that this was a standard backdrop doesn’t make this any less awkward to me. It makes the viewer feel somehow complicit in whatever is going to happen next.
I don’t know if I would pick this photo retoucher again. He seems to have a strange interest in the emphasizing and placing loving delineation on the inner whorls of one’s ear.
It’s just a very scratched photo that has been scanned in.

Nope, it’s just scratched. It’s from a Wal-Mart Portrait Studio, they got these backgrounds in Christmas 2004. And they also do not retouch photos, believe me. (I used to work there)
