Why is this a Christmas card photo? I don’t really see a funny point too it and that baby look’s scared to death. Maybe mommy has held this pose before behind daddy’s back. See the awkwardness too it yes, the Christmasy touch, no.
My only problem with this is that it’s the baby’s rear end that’s gonna get it in the follow-through, and I just can’t condone violence against children. Violence against clueless men who golf too much? I’d take that under consideration….
Awkward in a serious kind of way. Sure the link to Tiger Woods can be made, but his situation isn’t that funny. Nor is the fact that the baby looks like it may be hit by the golf club in this picture. Dark humor I guess.
Um….no. I was jokingly suggesting that the man wasn’t going to *be* the real target if she followed through with a real golf swing–the heavily diapered bottom was gonna get it. Everybody needs to chill.
The young Elin Nordgren, clinging to her father’s leg, had no idea of the irony contained in this photo. Not only would her choice of shoes be a fortelling of her future fortunes, but her mother’s swing technique would be etched in deepest recesses of her brain, until one day it came out of nowhere to strike a blow for all womankind!
This reminds me of the high school art project where you have to learn to how draw perspective, and the vanishing horizon. This photographer didn’t take that class.
She’s holding the club wrong. You must interlock your hands. She’s going to have a terrible slice and that baby is going to end up in the drink. If I received this card, I would rip it up and throw it away for this reason alone.
I love it! A couple with a sense of humour, and obviously they have some not-so-private jokes of him golfing too much! this is much better than all the truely awkward photos of families faking smiles and happiness! This is a keeper!
Agreed! I receive a million photo cards every year, and the only ones I remember are the ones who have a sense of humor about it (and that one family who insisted on having posed Christmas shots of their only child until he was 16… but that’s a story for another time). I’d LOVE to have this hanging up on my card wall!
Some things are beyond explanation (like about why people get so upset and touchy about someone suggesting that a picture is staged or posed as in the last photo) but one thing’s for sure– the baby is so cute! I’m sure we can all agree on that!
