  6. Erin says:

So many memories! I had those bug eyed glasses as well!!!

  7. Michelle says:

Is that Cousin Oliver from the Brady Bunch?

  8. Joey says:

10 bucks says that this girl grew out of this and is probably like a REALLLY SMOKING HOT CHICK NOW.

  9. candace says:

A friend of mine who was a brownie in 1990 had a brown jumper. It reminds me of when we went to elementary school together until her mom pulled her out and sent her to Catholic school. I have to admit, I would buy those 3.50 a box cookies from that face. I see babies in similar glasses now.

I joined girl scouts for one year…it was a bust. I was an angry 13 year old who decided to shove her sister off some stairs. My sister jumped to save herself from falling.

  10. Jesse says:

This pic makes me think of the Blind Melon video with the little girl in the Bee costume :)

  11. LCB says:

    Bless her little heart.

I had glasses like those, too. I don’t think it has anything to do with kids picking out their glasses, though. I don’t remember there really being any other option in the kids’ frames.

    • brittani says:

exactly right, I was exactly the same way cause we were poor…all we had were those horrible granny glasses while all the rich kids got metal frames and looked significantly less dorky.

  12. Emily says:

Aww, adorable, she looks so proud of herself.

  13. Miffy says:

    I think she’s adorable!

  14. Robin says:

I’m a little late here, but I want to point out that this pic was posted on World Thinking Day, the most important Girl Scout and Girl Guide holiday. Serendipitous and cute!

  15. Leslie says:

I agree with the others….too cute!! But kinda awkward for you now, I suppose, Kim. You’re sooooo proud to have your badgeless badge belt. hehe

  16. I am pretty sure this is Lady Gaga at a young age!

  17. lyladove says:

uh, I’m pretty sure this is me in another life. Kim, if you read this, please find me and look at pictures of me, because we are twins.

  18. Lainey says:

Hey!…Where’d she find my Grandma’s glasses? Poor grammy lost those back in ’72 and hasn’t seen right since.

  19. Matthew says:

Kim is too cute for words. She’s absolutely beaming with excitement. I hate how we lose that excitment with age. Thanks for making me smile Kim.

  20. Lucky says:

Awwww….she reminds me of myself at that age. Cute, not awkward.

  21. Katie says:

This really is adorable. I love girl scouts… mostly because they pedal Samoas, but love nonetheless.

  22. Allie says:

Oh my word I want to keep her!!! She is soooo cute! Of course she’s probably my age (28) now so that would be weird…. but Kim, you took one adorable picture back in the day!

  24. starsky51 says:

She’s grinning because she’s able to make out individual molecules in the camera lens.

  25. Teebs says:

Allow me to speculate – this photo was shot on the day Kim got her brand new girl scout uniform. VERY cute picture!

  26. T says:

That girl is probably smoking hot now, that’s the way is usually goes.

  27. Magic Pink says:

Kim is completely adorable. This is the best picture ever posted here.

  28. taino sam says:

wow! you can see into the future with those coke-bottle glasses! mr. magoo ain’t got nothing on those pair!

  29. AR says:

    Kim is adorable!

  30. Boppie says:

The best part of this picture is Kim’s expression: she looks like an SNL character by Kristen Wiig. LOVE IT!

  31. Ruth says:

I’ll take advantage of this adorable photo to remind everyone that you can do TWO good deeds by buying Girl Scout cookies to be donated to our soldiers. The Girls Scouts win, the soldiers win, and you aren’t tempted to scarf an entire box in one sitting!

Check with your local Cookie Mom or Dad.

  32. Mabel says:

    Phase 1 in world domination?

  33. Alan says:

The girl scouts were out on a cross country hike, they stopped to cook lunch, but,no one had matches……instantly they all looked at Kimmy’s magnifying glasses & soon they had a roaring fire going.

  34. Current says:

Hummmmm, Kim? I don’t see no stinkin’ badges, girl!

  35. BJ says:

    A+ for the glasses!

  36. krysti says:

“I’m so excited I’m about to pee myself”

  37. JAmaral says:

Yeah for Kim, for being brave enough (and well-adjusted enough!) to post this picture! I swear I had glasses JUST like those at the same age!

  38. karen j says:

    That’s so awkwardly CUTE!

  39. Ryan says:

One of the cuts from the movie Troop Beverly Hills.

  40. Tamara says:

She’s adorable, not awkward. What a sweet, sweet photo ♥

  41. El & Mo says:

Hey, this can remind us to support girlscouts by buying cookies and don’t forget to buy a box for Operation Cookie Drop. Whether you’re liberal or conservative we can still support the troops with cookies!

  42. Amanda says:

She looks SO excited that she is about to BURST!! I think its cute:)

  43. Ashley says:

I think I had those same glasses back in ’94 when I was in 1st grade. I have no idea why I picked them.

    • Chilly says:

I had a similar pair but about 9 years before you. Kids shouldn’t be allowed to pick their own glasses. ;)

      • chevygirl says:

Ohh yes……………. i agree. NEVER let your child pick their own glasses. I too made the fatal misake of picking a pair that “MATCHED” my outfit…RAINBOW FRAMES…ugghh……. whoopsie…..sat on those babies a few weeks later :D

      • Snobo says:

what? the grasshopper look wasnt good for you???

  44. Dime666 says:

Kim is a member of Troop 981-Arizona Cactus Pine, eh? I wonder if maybe her grimace is because she sat on an Arizona Cactus Pine. OUCHIE!!!

  45. Melzie says:

Or for holding her pee the longest.

  46. Chazlette says:

Graduating from Brownie to Girl Scout IS SO EXCITING!!!

  47. bert & earnie says:

I will buy a truckload of thin mints, sweetie.

  48. bmj2k says:

Snap the picture already! She has to pee!

  49. Geo says:

Kim, you make the world go ’round!
