I can do this…but then again I’m pretty flexible. Always have been. My mom has a picture of me as a kid doing this pose, only while lying on the floor.
Oh my gosh, that is the weirdest photo. I couldn’t even begin to try to recreate that pose. I have been laughing too hard at the comments to be capable of anything besides holding my sides and wiping away the tears.
I just want to thank you all for making me laugh so hard I cried! I have never used so many tissues to wipe my eyes and reapplied makeup as much as I did while reading your comments, in my life! Just too funny.
Who cares about the pics when we have so much wonderfully funny reading!?
Really people? You think it’s hard to do this position?? I just did it ant it didn’t hurt at all!! Just stand straight (with you left foot more forward than your right) and turn your torso to the side, resting your hands at your hip as if you were holding a bouquet.
Not that hard!!
“Curves” is right, it’s only her dress making it look awkward..
This is actually a pose that gets done in wedding photography all the time. The girl turns her back on the photographer. Then she twists her upper body around so that the top half faces the photographer. The only thing is that the LONG gown usually hides the awkwardness of the feet! I spent a year of my life that I won’t get back having brides do this…
I can do that (yes I got up to try it!) It doesn’t feel the greatest, but it’s not that hard. I think the photographer meant well when he/she wanted her to pose this way, but it turned out very wrong! Wonderfully awkward photo!
If instead of facing forward she had turned her head away from the camera, she could have made it almost a full 360°, Linda Blair style — foot toward the left, legs and torso toward the front, chest toward the right, head toward the back…. Maybe it’s just Paul McCartney’s ex, clowning around.
Ahh, I get it. Her body’s facing away from the camera. Then she stepped back with her right foot and turned it out. Then she twisted her upper body and head to the left as much as possible. I should try that sometime.
Oh thank goodness… it’s her right foot, not her left! We’re coming back down now from the stratospheric heights of the weird, back to the merely awkward.
Thanks for making my morning a little more surreal!
I thought this was a silhouette of a pregnant bride until I realized she was turned and looking back….Gotta love those photos you are just so proud of!
Come one come all to the most spectacular event of the year, yes that’s right folks Bendaroo our beautiful contortionist is set wed Pepe the human cannonball.
No way….this is the same as the scene from Spaceballs where Mel Brooks goes through the transporter thingy….he comes out, looks down and shouts, “My ass is on backwards!!”
If you look closely (errr..), her lower body is facing towards the wall opposite the camera, and her upper body is turned back towards the camera. As if she was walking away and turning around to look at something.. but her dress is so shapeless that you can’t really tell what she is doing, and you just see the backwards foot.
Ok…how many other people stood up and tried to re-create this pose?? Come on…admit it! I agree with Sarah though…I wonder if it is a physical disability?
There was a time in my much younger days that I could do this, actually. And didn’t even notice that I was doing it. She’s either naturally very flexible or a dancer who has trained herself to be this flexible.
Look up Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. My best friend can walk forward with her legs flipped completely backward, heel-first. I’ll bet that’s what’s going on here.
Hmm, if it was a physical condition and not a talent, I don’t think the photographer would have emphasized it like this. Then again, who am I to give the photographer the benefit of the doubt?
It’s not as bad as it looks. She’s just facing away from the camera and looking back over her shoulder – no amazing flexibility involved.
Her dress is what’s giving the effect, making her look like her foot is on backwards.
Curves, you are absolutely right, good eye!! PEOPLE, really? You all think it’s impossible for a young woman to turn just her upper body to look back over her shoulder? Y’all must be pretty out of shape……
Curves, thanks for the description. I see it now, but after trying to recreate the pose my legs nad feet cramped up and I had to stop. Even with her obvious flexibility it must have been uncomfortable.

WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN
Mom always said, the key to a successful marriage is being flexible.
I can do this…but then again I’m pretty flexible. Always have been. My mom has a picture of me as a kid doing this pose, only while lying on the floor.
Pink wallpaper on red carpet – THAT’s what’s awkward… and remarkable!

The exorcist girl gets married!
If it helps you guys to figure it out, her bum is completely toward the camera.
Great torso flexibility, though.
THANK YOU
Jesus Christ!!

Well, I can actually turn both my feet all the way backwards, so this isn’t too awkward to me.
This has to be the most awkward pose i have ever seen……….

If her shoe is on backwards, where are her toes? Besides, that is definitely an Achilles tendon.
Um her shoe is on backwards duh
either linda blair’s wedding day or a poorly put together robot

Aren’t pictures like this generally about showing off the awesome back of your dress? We didn’t need to see the back of this one honey.
hmmm
nice pea soup

She looks pretty flexible. Must have been a fun honeymoon!
Haha!!! For sure…
AAAAaaaaAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!
“C’mon baby, let’s do the twist” – Chubby Checkers
It’s surely a screentest for that nearly-made film “Bride of Exorcist”
Oddly enough, I can turn both of feet around backwards and walk….triple-jointed in the knees…..
Dear god, I JUST figured this one out. Her butt is pointing at the viewer.
Makes so much more sense now…
but is still freaky.
This isn’t awkward, it’s freaky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought this was a silhouette of a pregnant bride until I realized she was turned and looking back….Gotta love those photos you are just so proud of!

absolutely hilarious
No way….this is the same as the scene from Spaceballs where Mel Brooks goes through the transporter thingy….he comes out, looks down and shouts, “My ass is on backwards!!”
“Why didn’t someone tell me my ass was so big!”
Gotta love Mel Brooks.
it actually kind of makes sense..

this is wonderfully awkward.
This is not physically possible. There is a little person hiding under that dress, sticking out a fake limb.
Weird how I’m craving pea soup right now.
Why am I craving pea soup?
I know you won’t believe me, but just looking at this makes my back hurt. A lot.
Ok…how many other people stood up and tried to re-create this pose?? Come on…admit it! I agree with Sarah though…I wonder if it is a physical disability?
I did. Ow.
I tried it… and I think I pulled something.
LMAO. I totally just got up and tried to do this. I’m so glad that I’m not the only one.
There was a time in my much younger days that I could do this, actually. And didn’t even notice that I was doing it. She’s either naturally very flexible or a dancer who has trained herself to be this flexible.

Didn’t Goldie Hawn do this in that movie where she got some potion that kept her from aging or dying?
death becomes her!
You mean Meryl Streep. Sadly, that was the first I saw of her.
Actually, you are BOTH right – Death Becomes Her, starring both Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep.
hah… my line was going to be “marriage becomes her”. I wondered if anyone would get it.
OK…I’m scrolling down, thinking this looks pretty normal, and then — FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HER FOOT IS ON BACKWARDS!!! Beyond awkward and into painful!
I know, this is a scroll down classic: Uh-huh, mm-hmm, kinda weird dress, but it’s not oh my GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO HER FOOT?
lmao!
That is really weird looking!!
It’s not as bad as it looks. She’s just facing away from the camera and looking back over her shoulder – no amazing flexibility involved.
Her dress is what’s giving the effect, making her look like her foot is on backwards.
mhmmmm, very observant. except for her arm and her chest….
Really? You try it!
hey, don’t doubt someone named ‘Curves’- could well be a doctor of the insane contortion powers of the body…
Oh! I see but she also has her foot at a weird angle.
Curves, you are absolutely right, good eye!! PEOPLE, really? You all think it’s impossible for a young woman to turn just her upper body to look back over her shoulder? Y’all must be pretty out of shape……

yeah that doesn’t explain it
