The doll in the Chevy t-shirt is a Baby Tender Love!! I had one and adored her!! funny the the little kid looks like s/he should be up on that little display gondolia!
Wasn’t there a horror flick called “Dolls” where this old couple turned mean people into dolls and the dolls would come alive? These dolls remind me of the ones in the movie. Creepy.
I have never felt so strong a need to comment on a photo as I have this time. I am overjoyed to see that others are commenting on the doll with the Chevrolet sweater, because it really elevates this photo to a whole new realm of awkwardness. This photo is the caliber of Eye Contact and the Thanksgiving Letter.
I definitely had an outfit like that kid’s when I was a baby. I’m seriously considering asking my mom if I am adopted and if I have a twin…
Oh yeah, and the fact that people loved to pose me with creepy dolls also makes me wonder. Seriously, I have at least 10 photos with dolls. It’s disgusting.
I wonder if this might be at House on the Rock? They have a lot of displays similar to this. Never been there around Christmas, but the lighting in the room and the dolls made me think of that place immediately.
I thought of House on the Rock too… especially since the kid is in a winter coat– the place isn’t heated in winter so many of the areas are freezing cold if you visit in December… That coupled with the darkness made me think of House on the Rock immediately. Plus, I know for a face they have a creepy collection of dolls there!
That is exactly what I was thinking, too, Chris. It looks just like something that would be there, plus I know that during the holiday season they bring out a bunch of intense holiday decorations. We never visited there during the winter, so I have no memories of a doll tree, but it is so much like what would be there. Good catch!
Doesn’t look like the live child in the photo really digs them either!
I actually LOVE the one in the Chevrolet T-Shirt. It reminds me of these two sweet little girls I babysat for when I was in high school. They always slept in their dad’s big ol’ TShirts!
As far as the creepiest, I vote for the “tall” one in orange and blue dress and prairie hat!
Whoa! Those are some of the ugliest, creepiest looking dolls I’ve ever seen. It’s like they’re just waiting for the darkness of night to hop down off their pedestals and go about their evil business.
OMG…Row above the bottom, far right, in full profile…Chucky!
Ever since seeing that scene from Barbarella where she is attacked by dolls with stainless steel teeth, I have been freaked out by these types of dolls.
Does anyone else remember that Ramona (from the Beezus and Ramona books by Beverly Cleary) had a baby doll named Chevrolet? She thought the name was pretty and told her K class when she bought it in for show-n-tell!
I take it this is a Christmas tree made up of dolls and a few strands of lights? I just *love* the doll in the baggy Chevrolet dress (pillowcase, perhaps?) being front and center! NOT!
I have no problem with dolls, but my daughter (she’s 20) would find this entire scenario about as horrifying as anything in her nightmares. Can we please, PLEASE get an explanation?
I think I remember in a childhood book I read (maybe the Ramona series by Beverly Cleary), the main character has a doll named…you guessed it…Chevrolet. Now why can I remember s**t like that, but can’t remember where I just put my coffee down?
I have a very similar photo and a little history behind mine. In the 60s in small town America it was common to have a yearly doll dressing contest. Women in the community took home a doll (our contest was sponsored by the local bank) and they would make clothing for the doll. I think they sometimes styled/cut the hair, too. The dolls were returned to the bank for judging. After awards were issued, the dolls were given to needy children in the community.
Looks to me like the Chevrolet dealership owner’s wife didn’t put in much effort, but she has an eye for marketing.
I think cos they’re ‘antique’. Most of them look to be from the 40′s and 50′s. That’s what dolls always used to look like, at least the ones meant for children to play with. I think their outfits add value as well. It looks as though they are only used as a Christmas display. (Maybe she displays them on shelves the rest of the year.) At any rate, it’s a harmless hobby. I know people who buy dozens upon dozens of custom made true-to-life dolls for thousands of dollars each. I think those are even ‘creepier’ as they look TOO MUCH like real babies.

Maybe this is Halloween lawn decor.

And yes I remember Ramona’s doll, Cheverolet too.

This belongs in the “Creepy Museum” along with the clown diplays and every Easter Bunny costume ever designed!!!!!
Ha chucky’s fantasy.
what, is this Scary Family Photos now?

You know, they say evil spirits cause freezing cold areas in buildings. Maybe these are more than just ugly, creepy dolls….. Mwaaahaaahaaaa!

Where is House on the Rock? I want to go there tomorrow!
Doesn’t look like the live child in the photo really digs them either!

The one in the overalls, next to the Chevrolet doll looks like Pam Anderson during Tool Time days… the whole shot is bizarre!!!!
Larry the cable guy is next to Pam.
Marshaaaaaaa….we’ve been waiting for youuuuuuu
Big Baby in Toy Story 3 made me cry.. these dolls make me want to scream and hide!
“This season on ‘The Bachelor- Chuckie…’”
OMG. Brilliant.
Tooo funny.
winning reply right here!
Wow. Flashback to Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. “She’s been a bad girl, must go sit in the corner now.”
wondering what’s at the top..
Oh be nice. It took 25 garage sales to assemble that collection.
OH GREAT !!! Now I’m too scared to go into my garage.
Just make sure to carry a baseball bat with you the next time you to go the basement.
Is that at the Doll Museum in South Dakota?
Hi. My name is Chucky. Wanna be my friend?

NIGHTMARES for me tonight!
Does anyone else remember that Ramona (from the Beezus and Ramona books by Beverly Cleary) had a baby doll named Chevrolet? She thought the name was pretty and told her K class when she bought it in for show-n-tell!
I do.
I loved the Ramona books! Great memories…
It’s a play on that old Twilight Zone episode – her month vacation is up and it’s time to become a doll again.
I take it this is a Christmas tree made up of dolls and a few strands of lights? I just *love* the doll in the baggy Chevrolet dress (pillowcase, perhaps?) being front and center! NOT!
The doll to the left of the Chevrolet baby is creepy – her hair is longer on one side than the other.
SKEEERY and very Talky Tina-ish.
She is totally freaking me out. This is what I get for thinking those of you with clown issues are wusses. Mommeeeeee!
the more I see of these creepy photos, the more I wonder why I envied the kids who celebrated Xmas!
OMG – I need to go sit in the corner and rock for a while.
FTW!
Oh my that is SO CREEPY. They’re all watching me with their little eyes. Gross.
This is disturbing. What is that the child is looking at, a doll coming for him? Woooooo
Ones getting away, stop HER!!!!
Ha ha ha!
RUN!!!! It’s soooo creepy!
NIGHTMARE!!!!
freakin spooky!
“How could they?! They know I’m a FORD guy…”
I have no problem with dolls, but my daughter (she’s 20) would find this entire scenario about as horrifying as anything in her nightmares. Can we please, PLEASE get an explanation?
I’m going to have nightmares about this…
Merry Christmas Wedding Cake Nightmare . . . I thought this was only in my dreams!!!
Wow…creepy. It reminds me of a Stephen King book (Tommyknockers maybe?) where the one character has dolls like that and they go crazy and attack her.
Creepiest Christmas tree EVER.
OK, FOLKS! It’s time to play “submit your vote for the creepiest doll”! I vote for the one dressed all in pink…..DEAD center! *SHIVER*
the one right behind pinky is pretty scary too!!!
Hey!
Yeah, it’s looking at us too.
Oh, I have to pick the one in dark green above her!
I vote for the one in blue with the yellow bib, she looks malnourished.
I vote the one in plaid in the front row – it’s like Larry the Cable Guy in doll form.
Gaaagh! It does.
The one all in black above the pink one gets my vote… the Chuckiesque hair…. don’t forget to check under the bed tonight…… waaaaahahahaha…
The doll, two over from the pink doll, dressed in blue, doesn’t seem to have any eyeballs…..
We have to pick just ONE?
The all look like Children of the Corn. That picture creeps me out.
The boy in plaid in the front row with what appears to be a black eye. He looks like he’s in the process of trying to kick the child in front.
My vote goes to the one right in front wearing the sky-blue anorak and red pants… scarily lifelike… oh, wait….
Middle row, tan plaid between white and red – he’s trying to torch the hair of the one in front of him
OH MY!!! That’s so subtile it’s freaky!
Actually the arm that looks like it’s torching belongs to the white doll next to him.
It would be easier to pick out which doll *isn’t* creepy… I’m going to have nightmares.
And what about the one above the kid’s head? Near the plaid?
The one with the creepy eyes looking off to the side? I’ll second that!
The answer is…… The one o nthe bottom right inthe green pants and Tan puffy vest. BLOOD ON HIS FACE!!!! ZOMBIE BABYDOLL THAT EATS BRAINS!
Nothing says doll to a young girl like Chevrolet!
LMAO!
I think I remember in a childhood book I read (maybe the Ramona series by Beverly Cleary), the main character has a doll named…you guessed it…Chevrolet. Now why can I remember s**t like that, but can’t remember where I just put my coffee down?
I luv you, Bunnyluv!!!!
creepy….

HA!! Your final comment and sense of humor is right up my alley! I like the feel good back story that allowed it to make sense for this pic.
Thanks for the explanation but it’s still just too damn creepy. Too many little dolly eyes gazing at once.
These dolls look ragged. I feel sorry for any kid that would have to get that for X-Mas.
OMG! Too funny! As I was reading about the contest, all I could think of was “So what’s with the Chevrolet t-shirt?”…then your comment…HAHAHA!
It’s a small world after all . . .
I’m Talking Tina and I’m going to kill you.
Hahahaha. This made me laugh soo hard.
Along with all of the other “dolls” wink-wink that I harvested here…
This is a pretty good illustration of about 65% of my childhood nightmares.
apparently i’m not the only one who dislikes dolls- they’re right up there with clowns for creepiness.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one creeped out by this. *shudder*
O M G I know where this is, LOL. I think I’ve had my picture taken in front of the ‘doll tree’ too at Christmas time.
Be careful kid… Your next on that shelf!! Right next to the chevy tshirt kid that came by yesterday!!
Yeah if you look quick, it seems the “doll” in the brown plaid is reaching for you…..mwahahaa
OMG!!! LOL, that is hilarious and what a perfect comment….WINNER!
Tying them up with Christmas lights?
I can’t get over how ugly those dolls are. Why collect the ugly ones?
