i know this family. and they’re not even awkward people so i’m surprised this picture is so weird…
2 parents, 2 floating heads, 2 children of the corn. LOVE IT
They have those kids on lockdown. Trapped! Trapped like rats!
Forget the two boy’s heads, look at the little girls evil stare, freaky.

The youngest boy looks like the precocious kid in an 80′s sitcom. He would be the one that always knew more than the clueless parents and had lots of “Awwww” moments.
This has got to be the most awesome family photo ever! Very creative and brings a smile to my face every time I look at it.
Maybe the one kid didn’t have a shirt in a shade of pink or burgundy so they had to hide all but his head?

I think this is a creative and cute idea! But yes…..definitely awkward.
The plan for a family totem pole picture broke down when Mom refused to mount the ladder.

I love the girl. She’s got that “I’m about to telekinetically set you on fire” look that always makes for great hallway family photo displays.

The Walenda family did the exact same pose… except from a tightrope high above a circus audience.

As someone pointed out on facebook, the kids are supposed to be forming a “heart” which is probably why they are in pink. However, I think the kid in the middle is suffering from a serious case of heartburn.

Yep, I think that’s why their legs are squeezed together at the bottom to form a “point” and why they’re stacked so oddly at the top. I didn’t say it was a good idea…I just said I think that’s what they’re attempting. And clearly Glasses Brother is much more on board the plan than the other three.

The younger children have inherited some gene that makes them know when they’re in a hopelessly awkward photo.
you know that girl was flipping the bird and that is why the mom is holding her hand.
I cannot believe anyone has paid good money to have a photographer do this! Or – how can a pro do this in the first place?? The whole composition sucks .. NOTHING works here! Left wondering if this photograph is on display in a home somewhere.

One of those heads doesn’t look happy at all; neither does that little girl!
Note that she’s being firmly held in place by her mother and by two of her brothers, one high and one low. If she wasn’t being gripped like that, she’d be out of there in a flash.
The only child thrilled with this set up is the middle brother. The little ones seem to be screaming “are you kidding??” and “OK, I’ve amused you can we move on”. Big brother is “OK, now what”. The parents are oblivious to it all.
That middle brother is going to get it good when they get home. Yeah, he’s smiling now, but later…
