This is the most tastefully done pregnancy picture that has ever graced this page. For once I’m NOT running to the eye bleach! Most of them are just awful.
I think that this picture is in black and white lends to its creepiness. And that fact that she is wearing one of those old-fashioned night gowns that appear in every horror movie shot in the 70′s and 80′s.
I used to work for a photographer who did photos like this all the time. He always got a lot of requests for this pose as well as a senior portrait of the graduate looking at a mirror with their baby self reflected….. They always turned out really nice – not awkward at all!
Professor Dumbledore (off stage): Hermione … this is the mirror of Erised… have you figured out its secret? … You see yourself as you desire to be, not as you actually are. Be careful, many have wasted many hours in front of this mirror…
Hermione: Does this mean … *sigh* …. I’m not really pregnant, Professor Dumbledore? … that … I’m …. just…. fat?
It’s the Mirror of Erised from Harry Potter and the Scorcerer’s Stone, in which a person can see their heart’s desire. I think it’s a great picture, not awkward at all!
I don’t think it is awkward – I think it is TERRIFYING!!!! In every horror flick, nothing is scarier than when the mirror image is different than what is in front of it. I will have nightmares tonight.
I don’t think this awkward at all – awkward would be her falling down and trying to get up! I think it’s clever how they joined the before and after shots together. Very sweet!
For those that do not think this awkward, you have never seen “The Ring”. It creeps me out. I’m half expecting a call that says “seven days” any moment now.
I think it’s always creepy when someone’s looking at him/herself in a pic. In this case, Pregnant Her looks like the Ghost of Pregnant Her, and that IS Awkward!
Well it may not be awkward but it looks like a horror movie!!! Like her evil twin has taken her child on the other side of the mirror and raising it as her own!!
Nope, you aren’t alone. It’s a little odd, but I can’t put my finger on why. Maybe it’s because I can’t really see her face or the baby’s face. And the message seems to be: I was pregnant, then I stepped into the magic mirror and here’s the baby! But wait…is it real, because I’m still outside the mirror?
People, people; you’re not listening. If we don’t salute the awkwardness, tomorrow we will be served another banana picture! Please don’t annoy the moderators. Too much is at stake.
I have to agree with most of the posts, I love this picture. while I have scene 10,000 stuido creations on this site that are just over the top – “Roadside Assitance” come to mind… I just like this one.
So did they take this picture after she had the baby, and make her fake pregnant, or before she had the baby, with someone else’s baby, or… or… I’M SO CONFUSED.
Call me crazy, but I think this photo is actually very beautiful, creative, and not at all awkward. It’s probably the least awkward photo on this site: no one’s naked, wearing anything bizarre, or posed in an incredibly cheesy position.

Gravity this is hilarious!!!! I love that comment.
hilarious!

This picture is rather odd, but rather adorable at the same time O_o not terribly awkward at all!

I think the graduation idea would be great if it were the other way around….the baby should definitely be looking at the graduated self.
Pregnancy is scary.

That’s the coolest pregnancy/new mom photo I’ve ever seen! Very creative!
she’s gotta be thinking, “dang, this nightgown fit me when I was preggers and it still fits.”
Awkward I say…and how’d they do it just a whole lot of photoshopping?
I think it’s sweet and lovely.
I’m gonna go with awkward.
It’s the Mirror of Erised from Harry Potter and the Scorcerer’s Stone, in which a person can see their heart’s desire. I think it’s a great picture, not awkward at all!
That was my first thought! And probably every pregnant woman’s greatest desire is to get the whole pregnancy bit over with . . .
I don’t think it is awkward – I think it is TERRIFYING!!!! In every horror flick, nothing is scarier than when the mirror image is different than what is in front of it. I will have nightmares tonight.
The worst part of it is that her husband is standing beside her but you can’t see him in the mirror because he’s a vampire!
oh man! c’mon guys this is totally photoshopped! … j/k i don’t understand why this is so awkward i think its beautiful

Another not awkward picture.
Yeah, I’d like to say that I like it too! It’s sweet. Who thinks its awkward or weird?
I don’t see how this photo can be awkward, it’s beautiful, great idea, will be passing the idea onto my photogropher friends!
Well it may not be awkward but it looks like a horror movie!!! Like her evil twin has taken her child on the other side of the mirror and raising it as her own!!
I actually love this picture.
I must be the only one who thinks this is awkward…sweet, but awkward
I’m with you on this one.
me too

I think this is a wonderful idea and picture!

i could understand if she were like breastfeeding the baby, which i thought she was for a sec, but since she is not, i actually like this a lot!
OH NO! You’ve just opened Pandora’s box. One guess as to what kind of awkward photo we’ll see in the near future. YIKES!
reminds me of the video from “The ring”… very frightening and definitely awkward
Very Harry Potter-esque…..
Good – I thought it was just me – I don’t get the “awkwardness” of it either….
(Buzzer Sound) Not only is this not awkward, it’s actually quite beautiful. Just my thoughts.
That’s actually a pretty cool photo.
Sorry, but I think this one is actually really nice. And FINALLY, a pregnant woman who’s wearing something!
That’s just what I was thinking!
My first impression was WOW, wish I had done that! I agree, not awkward at all.
Now that’s just precious!
I think it’s kinda cool, jmo.
Is it awkward that I REALLY like this one!
I actually don’t find this awkward at all. I think it is very sweet.
I don’t see the akwardness of this…looks cute to me…
Maybe I’m odd but I actually like this photo. lol
Yes a little bit corny, but I don’t think this really qualifies as awkward…
That’s kinda cute…
I don’t see this as awkward at all. I think it’s a sweet picture.
Where’s the awkward? What a cool idea!
Awesome pic! Not awkward, but brilliant! My humble opinion.
agreed.
Hmmm… Actually I kinda like this. Very sweet. She’s looking into the near future.
So did they take this picture after she had the baby, and make her fake pregnant, or before she had the baby, with someone else’s baby, or… or… I’M SO CONFUSED.
It’s 2 pictures…one while she’s pregnant and then after she had the baby. It’s 2 pictures photoshopped together.
It’s a prop baby that the photographer keeps on hand for just such occasions.
I don’t know, I don’t think this is that awkward. I think the idea is kinda neat, albeit it is not executed well. Just my never to be humble opinion.
Obvious remark: “Shopped!”
Call me crazy, but I think this photo is actually very beautiful, creative, and not at all awkward. It’s probably the least awkward photo on this site: no one’s naked, wearing anything bizarre, or posed in an incredibly cheesy position.
Yeah, you’re right. It’s probably me, I’m crazy…
I think it’s a great photo, tastefully done. I wish I looked that good when I was expecting!
Why is this awkward? I actually LOVE it.
I like it too! I think it’s very creative of the photographer
I agree. I think it’s clever.
