Why exactly is the sink so full of water? That’s what’s bugging me.
I am just glad we don’t see a can of shaving cream on the counter anywhere.
It’s so 90′s, which makes it really awkward. The White Rain, the excessive amounts of artificial dyes in every product… I’m pretty sure that they all had a good laugh and a nice glass of Tang after this picture was taken.

I agree that this isn’t the most “awkward” kid picture ever posted. On the other hand, I’m unable to work myself into a frenzy (or, if you prefer, a lather) about it. I’m confident AFP will make a comeback in due course.

I like the expression of older brother when he is only a couple of years away from doing the same stunts. Two boys, don’t take your eyes away from them for a second! I could write a book!
So I totally thought that this was a picture of me and my two best friends at that age only one was shaving my face with toothpaste while the other was palm to face.

Yes there are many photo’s on this site where others have questioned if they have been staged or otherwise computer enhanced to make waves on AFP. Nothing new.
What’s awkward is that the photographer is already there!
This picture is replayed everyday in millions of homes with kids everywhere. We demand unique, rare, against the grain, and awkward phots. Not this mundane cute stuff every parent holds on to show future dates to embarrass them as future teens.
I agree with the other posts. This is not awkward. Just a funny, but typical, kid photo.
I personally don’t find it to be awkward but for those of you who do….enjoy!

I laughed so hard at this one!! I have two boys, and this could totally happen at our house. This photo captured a very funny moment in time!

I love the “oy vey” facepalm of the other kid.
I think this picture is awkward by # 1 – He appears to have been trying to brush his teeth with a power toothbrush but at 2 or 3 was lacking the skill to do it. With that said we would all love to see more that would be in the range of # 3 – socially awkward.
