Yes, sometimes, babies are born cross-eyed, though I wouldn’t be surprised if the baby just went cross-eyed during the photo (just for lulz, naturally). the thing that really makes it hilarious is that expression. looks like she’s about to crack up. x3

Kathy b, what are you talking about?! She’s not propped in a sitting position. She’s on her belly and supporting herself with her arms. Her eyes are crossed because she’s trying to focus on something or someone too close to her. Babies make all kinds of weird facial expressions – it is the mark of a good photographer to delete the really bizarre ones.

OK, the crossed eyes are weird, but what disturbs me the most is that a baby this young should not be propped into a sitting position in order to make an ugly picture. Why do people think that’s a good idea? Just take a picture of your baby lying down! It’s much less unnatural.

Calm down. That baby is on her belly and pushing herself up. Putting baby on belly is ENCOURAGED when the baby is awake.
It kind of looks to me like the baby is laying down, just sort of slanted. I could be wrong.

Has anybody said that this baby is not sitting, just propped on its elbows? Yes? And has anybody mentioned that this looks exactly like the face of a baby going poop while having its picture taken? Yes? Perfect.
Oh, I forgot to mention that this baby is not sitting, it is on its belly propped up on its elbows. And I also forgot to mention that I would like to have a “poop face-off” with this child. I do a pretty intimidating poop face myself.
It’s a good thing we’re hard-wired to love our babies no matter what.
Thankfully, I have about 10 other pics from this shoot that wouldn’t make it on this site cause they are actually cute. But this was my mom’s favorite for some reason!
Nicole, I assure you that if we had had anything remotely this excellent of my own kids, it would definitely have gone in their yearbook grad ads! Did your mom show this to all the friends you brought home?
she would secretly post it in obvious places when I moved into my college dorms, apts, and post-college houses to make my roommates laugh until I was married. I definitely remember seeing it on my rehearsal dinner video…I just had to share it with the world!
