Behind The Awkwardness: Our Little Pumpkin - Behind The Awkwardness

“My 3 year old was very unhappy about his first preschool field trip even though it was to a fun pumpkin patch. He scowled at everyone and everything the entire time and was even madder after I coerced him to getting behind this pumpkin cut-out to take this picture… if looks could kill, I would have been dead immediately after taking this photo!”

My youngest was afraid of pumpkins until she was about 5…. no kidding. This kid looks like he just has a hatred of the gourd lol

  2. Alixandria says:

This photo is so much cuter because he’s mad. He is just SO adorable.

  3. Jessie says:

When I first saw this I thought someone was trying to do a clever (ha ha) birth photo. Either way, it’s a good awkward photo!

  7. You know, despite the awkwardness, this is actually a really good photo. I would totally blow it up and frame it, ’cause it’s that cool. Awkwardness can be so beautiful. <3

I think he is upset that he has to share his photo with that badly drawn mouse.

I look forward to having kids so I can make grumpy pics of them 😀 (By the way, AFP-people, I LOVE the non-rude comments on this site, but did my previous comment seriously not get through because I used the V-word for ladyparts??)

    • Christy says:

I didn’t see your prior comment but I can only imagine what you said. This picture totally looks like the kid is in the birth process, the process of being born. Oh, and he’s not looking real forward to coming out.

  15. Amy says:

Boy, he must be incredibly cute when he is happy if he is that cute when he’s mad!

  16. ScoutC says:

This reminds me of that publicity shot of Jack Nicholson from “The Shining” where he’s sticking his head through the door opening. REDRUM!

    • Christine says:

Yeah! I agree. My first thought was a baby head coming out of your know what! I was taken back but then I saw it was a pumpkin. To me it’s not about the boy’s face or expression, it was the ackwardness of the stupid pumkin and how it looks like an opening !

I chaperoned my daughter’s Pre-K field trip to the Pumpkin Patch…..I agree with this face….worst field trip ever. But he is precious, mad look and all.

A pumpkin prince literally being “crowned” !

  21. Erin says:

    No one quite does “serious” like a 3-year-old. He’s a cutie 🙂

  22. It's me! Dee! says:

Awww. Your son is too cute for words! Great pic! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  23. possible sicko says:

Well, you may have all seen a birth canal, but what I saw was … uhhh … a bit further back. I was thinking “I would be angry too if I had to pose inside a pumpkin’s pooper”.

~I’m just a lonely little petunia in a pumpkin patch, a pumpkin patch, a pumpkin patch …~

  27. Maneese1 says:

Lynzee – I thought the same thing when I first glanced at the pic!

This is adorable to me cause every one of my Dad’s childhood pictures looks just like this. He was mad a the world as a little boy but you’d never know it now cause he’s Mr. happy-go-lucky.

  28. TriThis says:

Congratulations!! It’s a very angry baby boy!!! :/

  29. Carol Bender says:

Tell us how you really feel! I love it, this is so adorable.

  30. emm says:

lol lynzee, i thought the same thing! and we all know, NO one is happy during birth.

  31. Jenny says:

Such a cutie, even if he is grouchy 😉

  32. John says:

I guess the pumpkin patch wasn’t very sincere so he realised that there was no chance of The Great Pumpkin turning up.

  33. Gypsy Rose Lee says:

OMG This is hilarious. Totally adorable!

  34. Lynzee says:

Awkwardly enough, the placement of all the pumpkins makes this look like birth. lol
