Behind The Awkwardness: Macho Man
March 26th, 2012
“This is my little sister in costume for her dance routine to the Village People’s “Macho Man” song. The sad part is, someone put a lot of effort into creating this monstrosity, and what’s worse, made her wear it.”

ohhh dear. (and I thought a tap routine in tuxes to “42nd Street” was boring at age 7…)
he has on pantyhose on
from a guy who loves women in thigh high boots
Obviously pre-dates “Dance Moms” ’cause NOBODY smiles on that show…
Please please PLEASE tell me she did this with a bunch of other girls who were similarly dressed as the REST of the Village People… please? And if so, we need to see those pictures too!
I’m the girl in the pic; it was a group of 10-15 girls and we were all dressed exactly alike hahaha. I’m sad to say I have no idea where the group photo is bc it would be priceless.
Aw, that’s too bad; it sure would be. BTW, you’re a very good sport!
I am not getting the head covering. OK, so the excess skin kind of puddles up around the neck and travels up onto the head, and there is just a little bit of hair at the front of the head? I find that almost as confusing as the lipstick/mustache combo.
Way to take this super serious.
Because it’s a stage costume for a dance recital.. from the audience, they probably looked like a bunch of little bald muscle men. The lipstick is because it’s a dance recital and again, from the audience it just makes the kids faces stand out.. no makeup = washed out face..
He looks like a little Freddie Mercury, hahahaha!
Er, its a she
But, she’s portraying a “he,” so she would be honored that I said “he.”
The mustache KILLS me! That is so hilarious.
I’m loving the lipstick! Nothing says macho man like bright red lipstick.
I find it completely awkward that someone created a dance routine for girls to the music of “Macho Man.”
This is the kind of thing that keeps Pat Robertson awake at night.
So it’s good that someone did it, then!
What you said cracked me up! And doesn’t it look like football shoulder pads were ingeniously incorporated into the making of this outfit? Not even 80s “fashion” shoulder pads were that big!
