Losing is not an option.

This photo makes me think of a good friend I had growing up. He’s now very successful in every sense of the word. Makes tones of money in a very challenging and rewarding career. Married a great woman that obviously loves him. Tons of friends. This kids is probably about the same age as him now.
I also think its an awesome photo and very worthy of this site.
Rick, you are so right!
I want to adopt this child.
Cute kid, cool trophy.
The mullet with spiky top, the tie-dye shirt–in front of a tie-dye background? Classic. Too fun. These kind of pictures really need a then-and-now element. When you submit people include a current picture, folks. We need to know that you turned out alright. 😉
Come on, Rich, this photo is hysterical! The tie dye shirt, the spiked mullet, the kid’s chubbiness, and the cherry on top- a model rocket trophy! A future AFP classic, this one checks nearly all the boxes. All it needs is a pregnant lady and an ill-placed dog.
I don’t see what’s so “awkward” about this photo. Chubby kid from the 80’s with a trophy? Probably has some proud parents that didn’t think this photo was awkward.
Agreed… the mullet is kind of funny, but this doesn’t rise to the level of awkward.
Is that a model rocketry trophy? Awesome, dude!
