The Force Awakens (Awkwardly)

“Have you ever had that horrible recurring dream where you are trick-or-treating but forgot to wear pants? In honor of the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I present this classic photo of me and my brother on Halloween, 1978. The joy of this photo is in the details. My brother’s little hand sticking out the top to try to hold the box up… My lack of pants (though I *am* wearing tights, I swear)… Couldn’t he have had a little less cardboard and given some to me? Also note that we needed to (incorrectly) label ourselves since no one knew what we were supposed to be — I wonder why. Sigh.”

Overboard

“We went out for a sail with a group of friends, but one wasn’t really a sailor. When we had to ‘tack’ and the sail changed direction she just lay there until (helped by the weight of her chest) she began to slip head first, screaming, in to the Mediterranean. Thankfully some quick thinkers grabbed her ankles in time. I just reached for the camera to get this classic action shot.”

Duct Tales

“My big sister and I, 21 years later… my diapers had to be duct taped because I would take them off.”

Turn Back Time

For my friends dress upĀ  8th birthday party, my mum made me a Cher costume out of a stocking, two material strips and not much else…… I wish I could turn back time.

Shaving Is Cool

“On the morning of my first grade picture day, I thought it’d be cool to shave my face like my dad. He gave me a fake razor but when he left the room I used his real one and went right over my brows. Makes for a great memory at least!”
