Smack In The Face

“All my parents wanted was a nice family photo. Of course with my family, it doesn’t ever work out that way.”

The Long Way Down

“So here’s our latest family photo. We wanted some shots ahead of our son’s 2nd bday, but no nap made for a crazy kid. We were swinging him on a 1-2-3 count to get him to smile, it was working great. Before the third swing got going, he picked up his feet on 1, the photographer snapping away all the while, documenting our parental failure as his hands slipped from ours. Holy crap. Thankfully he was okay, no major damage from the sidewalk face plant. And thankfully, Jenny got the shot. ”

Reminds us of another photo…

A Mighty Wind

It was crazy windy and this was the only day to take our yearly Christmas pictures that fit our busy schedule. My husband is trying to hold our 1 year old as he’s wiggling around kicking his legs and knocking our middle child in the head causing him to scream. I am trying to keep calm while I’m holding him with a half smile on my face. While our oldest son is waiting patiently for our family photographer¬† to say, ‘Cheese!’ Needless to say, this picture did make it on the Christmas card and everyone loved it!

Family Bliss

“Pure Family Time Bliss… our photographer told us to kiss trying to show how cute our family is together. This is what she captured. ”

Public Displays Of Affection

“During our holiday family photo shoot this year, we wanted to recreate a cute one we got last year when Tommy was just a baby. It didn’t quite turn out like we hoped it would…next time I guess mom should avoid sticking her nose in his eye.”

American Revolution

“This is our ONLY professional family photo circa 1980. It was a fundraiser through my school. My mother made me wear my marching band outfit. It was humiliating and not only is the picture forever, it was witnessed by my entire grade school. (I love the pic now though!)”
