**AFP Grandparents: The Wedding Toast**

April 3rd, 2012

As many of you may know, my grandparents are an inspiration to me. While they are the two funniest people I know, they are also incredible role models– married for 72 years! Well, today marks my first anniversary and I couldn’t help but re-post this amazing wedding toast they recorded for my wife and I last year. Mike Co-Founder, AFP

This is the cutest couple I have ever seen. There is no dought marriage has it’s up’s and downs. But just being with the same person so long, how could you not have a arguement now and then. My husband and I are married almost 20 years now together 22 years. I can not agree with them more, love their five advise tips cause they are all so true. My parents were married 53 years before my father passed away, and my mother passed away just 4 months after him, my mother truely passed away from a broken heart, she longed to be with him and her heart gave out just 4 months after he passed. My father was a wonderful husband yes he to had his problems but it never stopped my mother from loving him. My mother was the apple of his eye she could do no wrong. She waited on him hand and foot took care of us kids and the house and always had supper on the table when he got home from work. Over the years of watching them interact with each other I felt I learned a lot. Back when they grew up when you wed it was for ever, they never thought about a divorce and took their marriage vows very seriously. And I feel that this is what is wrong with todays marriages couples just don’t stop to remember their vows to each other and why they fail in Love with each other in the first place. No one stays the same over the years everyone changes, some better some worse, but please always remember your wedding vows and to always Love each other and respect each other tell death do you part. Cause there will be times you just want to throw in the towel, but look back on all the good times you shared and think about all the good times to come. When you have children that is a trying time for a relastionship, every thing changes children rock a world and keep rocking it tell they grow up and settle down. But there is nothing better then being married to the same person for so long, and it only gets better with age and time…just like a fine wine. Best wishes to all newly married couples and God Bless you all. Have a wonerful life together and please never allow the bad times out way the good times. And another word of advise always make time for each other, and time for your self. Love one another they way you want to be loved, and the blessings will flow in. Have a wonderful marriage for many years to come.

So hilarious, I almost fell out of my chair! It reminded me of listening to my grandmother bring up “the night your grandfather didn’t come home” story and my grandfather getting all flustered and argueing (again) that his truck had broken down and he slept “all night” on the side of the road until he could fix it the next day. They went on and on about it until my grandfather stormed out of the room all frustrated, it was actually pretty funny listening to them. I asked my grandmother when this had happened. “Oh, it was around 1929″! This was around 1985, she never let him forget it, lol.
