Baby Bird 3
“I am a photographer, and I have a brilliantly talented newborn photographer named Jen who works for me. This was the very first shot taken at her newborn session yesterday. Suffice to say, this little guy made his feelings known about getting his photos taken right from the beginning. His parents loved it, and I hope this baby flipping the bird becomes the cherished family heirloom it deserves to be.”

A New Way To Print Your Awkward Photos
We recently had a chance to sample some product from Fracture, a new company that prints your photos directly to glass and have to admit– it’s pretty cool.
A few days after we ordered, the printed pics arrived neatly packed in a small box.
We were pleasantly surprised by how sleek the presentation is. Super easy to hang on the wall.
To be honest, the print quality is better than we thought it would be and the photos really pop on the glass. We sampled three different sizes and we were really happy with this finished product. Just because the photos are awkward doesn’t mean the printing has to be as well!
Right now, fracture is offering 20% off to all AFP followers until March 31st!

Sith Happens
“My friend’s parents wanted him to be in the church directory photo. They compromised.”

Making It Rain
“My husband and I were on vacation in Florida with our boys. I thought a photo of them at the picnic table was a cute idea. Important detail: my youngest son was being potty trained at the time. I had him in an over-large t-shirt with his training undies off after a day on the beach. When my youngest decided to pull up his t-shirt, I went ahead and took the shot anyway with his dad happily unaware of what was happening behind him.”

Mystery Man
“The man in the back in the Copacabana outfit is my grandpa, who I never met. He looks like a fun-loving type of guy! Nobody in my family knows where this photo was taken, or why.”

Twin Trouble
“Our family was at Arctic Roadrunner (a burger place in Anchorage, Alaska) when I captured this shot of my husband Jim and our 2-year-old twins, Hank and Annie. Daddy and Annie are having a blast while Hank stands in the foreground clearly not a part of the inner circle. Also his Daddy cut his bangs way too short a week ago so things just aren’t going his way lately.”

Death Stare
“Alright. I’m the one on the left with the sweet bangs, and probable curling iron burns on my forehead. Let’s analyze this:
1. The denim. Why, Mom, why?
2. Stain on my stepdad’s knee.
3. Several excellent examples of leaning, particularly my casual elbow on my stepdad’s knee.
4. And the absolute best, my sister’s face. We are all happy to announce she isn’t a sociopath.”

The Final Countdown
“My mom set the timer, but didn’t quite make it to the picture.”

Check Out That Brickwork
“A photo of my beautiful wife and her father walking down the aisle at the House of the Seven Gables on our wedding day. She gazes out at the ocean, her father tries to contain his elation, and all eyes are fixed on this beautiful moment. Except for my uncles’ and cousins’, who are evidently more fascinated by the brickwork than the bride.”
