Not A Picnic

“This is a pic of my daughter dressed up as a picnic basket for Halloween.”

A Bunny, A Lone Ranger, And A Hunchback

“My brothers and I recreated our most pitiful Halloween costumes from the early 80’s. I was about 4 years old, my brothers 6 and 11. My middle brother, the Lone Ranger, hated dressing up for Halloween, so that was as extensive of a costume as he would wear. Half way through trick or treating he ditched the hat and mask and no one knew what he was supposed to be. My oldest brother, on the other hand, was fascinated with being the Hunchback. Thirty years later we went back to our old house to stand on the stoop for the re-creation. Only a little sister could convince two grown men to do this. I think we nailed it.”

Halloween Table

“My mother is the most wonderfully creative woman I know. And usually, that’s a great thing. Unless she’s making me be a table for Halloween. She was so excited for this costume, you wouldn’t believe. She glued a real loaf of bread to it. She cut out pictures if food from magazines and glued them to paper plates. It rained that year so while we Trick-or-Treated, my sweet little sister took shelter under the thing all night. The costume was a hit though!”

Locked In

“I had a third-grade class assignment to illustrate a problem and a solution. My bratty four-year-old sister was my biggest issue at the time. Since I couldn’t give her to another family I decided locking her in her room would be the next best thing. I can’t believe the teacher gave me a red smiley face.”

Birthday Cake Massacre

“A dinosaur-themed party with a red velvet volcano-shaped cake makes his older brother’s 4th birthday a bit more scary than intended.”

Out Of Focus

“It took us fifty tries to get this one.”

Poster Kids

“Typical gifts from an out-of-touch dad. And yes, the pot leaf poster was a gift to my 5 year old brother. I got the ‘Hang in there!’ kitty.”

Grandma’s Grab

“Getting ready to take a memorable photo when Grandma reaches for her granddaughter’s hand just as my uncle snaps the picture. It looks like she’s grabbing at her grandson’s crotch. Lol. This is one for the books.”

Stuck On You

“Searching for that lost lollipop!”

Jingle Breath

“My son decided to have a cat bell for a snack. He took the bell right off the collar of the cat and swallowed it. We took him to the ER for surgery, but while we were waiting, all the nurses got a chuckle out of listening to him take deep breaths.”
