One Reason To Add A Bathroom In The Barn
“So my brother-in-law threw my sister a surprise birthday party and this was the cake he came up with. That is my sister drunkenly peeing in a trash can (because there was no bathroom in the barn and it’s a pretty good hike uphill in the dark to the house). The first bakery turned them down.”

Penny Cat Aurora Leopard Butterfly With No Wings
“Our 4 year old daughter, who refers to herself as Penny Cat Aurora Leopard Butterfly With No Wings, was greatly anticipating picture day at preschool. She styled her own outfit for the occasion, and when the photographer told her to ‘Smile pretty like a princess’, this magic happened.”

Towel Boy
“When we were trying to take a picture for Mothers Day, my brother walked out of the shower and down the stairs, creating a hilarious photo bomb. Happy Mothers Day!”

Howl-oween
“I can’t quite remember, but I think my parents were supposed to be some sort of ‘Cat People’ characters a la Peter Criss from Kiss. I just wanted to be a werewolf.”

The Princess And The Castle
“My sister and I always collaborated on costumes. She wanted to be a princess this particular year, but I REFUSED to be her prince.”

It’s A Kick
“We had our family photos last week and our oldest daughter was super upset because she got kicked in the face. Nobody saw it happen and we told her to get over it. Got these edited today and her reaction to getting kicked in the face is PERFECT!”

A Bunny, A Lone Ranger, And A Hunchback
“My brothers and I recreated our most pitiful Halloween costumes from the early 80’s. I was about 4 years old, my brothers 6 and 11. My middle brother, the Lone Ranger, hated dressing up for Halloween, so that was as extensive of a costume as he would wear. Half way through trick or treating he ditched the hat and mask and no one knew what he was supposed to be. My oldest brother, on the other hand, was fascinated with being the Hunchback. Thirty years later we went back to our old house to stand on the stoop for the re-creation. Only a little sister could convince two grown men to do this. I think we nailed it.”

Halloween Table
“My mother is the most wonderfully creative woman I know. And usually, that’s a great thing. Unless she’s making me be a table for Halloween. She was so excited for this costume, you wouldn’t believe. She glued a real loaf of bread to it. She cut out pictures if food from magazines and glued them to paper plates. It rained that year so while we Trick-or-Treated, my sweet little sister took shelter under the thing all night. The costume was a hit though!”
