Mr. Dependable
“This is from my high school yearbook. Our yearbook photographer couldn’t rely on the “most dependable” guy to show up on picture day.”

Bang Your Drum
“This is a picture of my boyfriend Shane Hooker ( yes I have permission to post) as you can see it is a professional picture of him in his band uniform standing in front of a large bass drum.”

Permilicious Revisited
The ladies of “Permilicious” stopped by the Awkward Family Photos Museum Exhibition this week in Geneva, IL and we we want to thank them for sending us this photo.
Fallen
“I hear my 3 year old screaming, “Help! Mommy!” I ran to find him. Poor thing had forgotten to put his potty seat on and fell in the toilet. Of course, I had to take a picture before helping him out.”

Cult Of Personality
“When I was about 5 (I’m 40 now) my parents thought it would be fun to take some weird pictures on a camping trip to send to their friends and family. Apparently, we frightened the park ranger. The end result is a pretty fantastic family portrait. I can’t decide if we look more like the missing three from Fleetwood Mac or the leaders of a cult.”

When Deer Attack
“A family road trip through Jasper National Park, circa 1981, a fantastic photo opportunity arises. Several deer are grazing at the side of the road. There are many motorists who have also stopped to embrace the opportunity. My mother, little sister and I approach a deer and as my father sets up the shot with a 3-2-1 countdown on his state of the art manual camera, it appears the deer has an ulterior motive. My toddler sister gets the worst of it and we are caught off guard and shocked! After the photo was taken my father put his camera down and chased the deer until he literally kicked it in its malicious deer butt. No more than a bruised chin to the resilient toddler but to this day, my lil sister doesn’t think it’s as funny as the rest of us.”

Caught Red-Handed
“My nephew and his wife had some pregnancy photos taken. I’m not sure what the thought process was here, but it appears terrifying.”

Let There Be Blood
“I always look forward to when my sister has my nieces make or sign cards for me for my birthday. A couple years ago I opened the mail and found this delightful birthday message inside written in little kid serial killer caps. I asked my sister what the deal was and she said Mora was very traumatized that a tiny dot of blood was coming out of her knee after she tripped on a toy. ‘Mora (who was 4 at the time) INSISTED that I put this information in your card so I made her stop crying and write it herself.’
What an honor that she wanted to share her pain with me. I have proudly displayed this card in every office I’ve worked at hoping someone will notice.”

Gearheads
“On our way to visit our grandparents house, we had to stop at Sears for something. My step mother saw the photo booth and decided we would do our annual family photo right then, without brushing our hair, or even taking our head gear off! Needless to say, we were not thrilled.”

The Middle
“My 2 daughters came to see their brand new baby brother. The middle child was not to happy to give up her title as baby of the family!”
