Christmas
Worst Gift Ever
“In 1988 I thought I was going to get a computer from mum and dad for Christmas, but instead I got a giant framed picture of myself as the page boy at my sister’s wedding.”

Trading Places
“My husband couldn’t make it to the family portrait photo shoot. Rather than cancel, I brought a “replacement”. This is what went in all our Christmas cards. My husband’s family was not amused and he wouldn’t talk to me for days.”

Eyes Up Here
“My sisters and I thought it would be a nice Christmas present for our parents if we had a professional portrait taken of all our families. But the children were too young, and there were too many of them to get them all to look at the camera (much less smile) at the same time. The adults turned out good though.”

Sunshine And Rain
“We drove through a snow storm to get holiday portraits for the second year in a row. My son was wearing clothes that were one size too small and hand-me-downs, and my daughter was wearing a Christmas tree costume that I bought on clearance at Halloween time.”

Santa, Bring Me A New Family
My youngest daughter made cootie catchers to put on all of our Christmas gifts. Maybe I’m not getting the hint?”

Disgruntled Angel
“Here’s me circa 1978 dressed as an angel for the Christmas nativity. Clearly, I was not having it.”
