Phoning It In

“This is a photo of my whole family. My uncle was away on a hunting trip, so my aunt gave the photographer a picture of him so he could just ‘blend him in’ to the background. Clearly this man was a professional!”

“My Aunt’s high school drill team photo. Do you think she needs more props?”

Pump Up The Volume

“This is my 2 sisters and me in a portrait that was an anniversary gift for our parents. Our sister Michelle, in red with a hybrid ‘Farrah Fawcett /Pittsburgh big hairdo, was the one who thought this would be the perfect gift (she footed the bill).”

Pee Wee’s Big Adventure

“Here I am at 3 years old. Yes that is a fur coat, a snowman with 2 pennies for eyes and Pee-Wee Herman waiting for me at the bottom of the slide.  I promise I’m half way normal now.”

Fear The Ear

“And I’ve had a phobia of rabbits ever since.”

Ten Pack

“This is a photo of my great-grandma and all of her great-grand children. Sears must have been having a special or something because I (front row, pink dress) remember waiting in line for a very long time before it came for our turn to have our picture taken. This explains all the children’s bored/upset faces. It was miserable at the time, but now it’s a funny and iconic family photo.”

Made In The Shade

“This is a photo of me and my pet ferret around the time I was three. My aunt decided to surprise my parents and take me to the local PetSmart for a photoshoot. A toddler holding a parasol with a pet ferret, along with unfortunate 90’s attire, makes for one awkward photo.”
