The Pole Family Revisited

Well, every now and then, we open our inbox and hear from one of our classic AFP families. Tim Wright sent in this awesome recreation of their pole-rrific original.

Thank to Tim and the whole Wright Family and we encourage everyone to check out their website and YouTube vlog at TheWrightClan.

Permission To Recreate, Please

“Easter 1983 with my four siblings in front of the house we grew up in.  For Christmas this year, 2015, we re-created the photo for my parents.  We asked permission from the current homeowners to take the pic.”

Bear Hug

“Our father was an avid sportsman. Every summer he would travel deep into Canada with a group of guys to hunt and fish. In 1989 he brought home this black bear and had it turned into a rug.  My brother and I were thrown on it for the first classic picture.  My father passed away four years later and the rug (along with his other animal mounts) still grace our log cabin living room. I decided to recapture the moment as adults and we gave it to our mother as a Christmas gift. She, along with the rest of the family, got a kick out of it. Some people have asked if we are wearing clothes in the adult picture..we are close as brothers but not that close!”

Recreating The Awkwardness

“My family, then & now: 1982 – 2014…Couldn’t find tube-socks for the re-shoot! We had the furniture scattered around the house and in storage, so, I gathered it up and attempted to rearrange it as closely as possible. The cat had since died of old age, so hence the stuffed one.”

Return To Sender

“Our mom was a photographer and she thought it would be cute to fit us into the smallest box possible. After many pictures, I was clearly a little peeved, and  you can see my sister’s struggle from the redness in her face. We decided to recreate it this summer when she was home from her travels abroad, and, even though it was a tight squeeze in that box, it felt dang good to be back together again.”
