Siblings
Cult of Personalities
“This photo says it all. My oldest brother was and still is the quiet one. My middle brother was always getting in trouble and speaking his mind, and I am still the little sister who sees the good in every situation and always with a smile.”

Brotherly Love
“That’s me on the left in the sailor suit on the left, and my brother, smiling and content, on the right. In my humble opinion one of the best examples of late 1980s Sears family portrait photos you’ll ever see.
Apparently, no amount of rattle toys and funny voices could shake me out of the existential crisis I was clearly going through at the moment this picture was taken. Or maybe it was just the indignity of that sailor suit. Either way, my brother, on the right, was clearly just fine with the whole procedure.
Ever since this picture was taken it has brought joy to all who see it. When I lived with house mates we had this picture posted in our kitchen with the caption, ‘You might have had a bad day, but at least you’re not as sad as this baby.'”

My Sister Is A Centaur
“My sister and I had this photo taken as a gift for our parents in 1995. Little did we know it would turn out to be an optical illusion. I’m the one in the black sweater and blue jeans, but if you look at it just right, it appears that my sister is crunched up in a ball in the front, and I’m the black-clad mythical creature in the back.”

The Longest Hug
“My brother would tease me all the time, so when mom said, ‘hug your brother’ this is what she got.”

The Summer Of ’69
“I was 9, my sister, 3. I had more hair than anyone knew what to do with. I decided that I wanted to look like a ‘movie star’ in our photo shoot, so my mom’s hairdresser gave it her best shot… mission accomplished??? My poor little sister was obviously terrified of that monstrosity on top of my head… but don’t worry, she turned out fine. She became a school counselor! Still my favorite sister pic of all time… how I miss 1969!”

Sibling Bond
“When my sister and I were younger, my parents couldn’t get us to stop fighting. Mom had the idea of duct taping our wrists together since handcuffs were to inhumane for children. We went to the mall and sister had to go to the bathroom. I had to go into the bathroom while with my hand sticking out of the stall while my sister did a number two. Since then, no fights!”

The Dangers Of Joint Birthdays
“My son and daughter shared a birthday party on a trip home. I didn’t think this through.”
