The 60’s

Camera Unfriendly

“Here’s a compilation of all my grade school photos. Somehow I managed to look ugly every year except sixth grade.”

Kissing Cousins

“This is a photo of my cousins who are twins. We have no clue what the photographer was thinking, but this is one he showed the family. Let’s just say it was a simpler, more innocent time. They are a close family, but not THAT close!”

Bear Hug

“My father took this of me in 1968 in the parking lot of Lollipop Farm, a petting zoo in Henrietta, NY.  Apparently, they just had a grizzly bear head lying around for kids to play with.  I probably had bear brains in my hair when I too, that thing off.”

Roll Bounce

“This was taken early 1965. I was posing with my favorite truck while my sisters roller skated in the driveway. The oldest sister has a unconvincing ‘I didn’t do it’ look while my other sister goes down hard.”

Roller Derby

“This photo was taken in the Fall of 1966. My Dad just returned from a hunting trip with the hide & antlers of his prized 5 point bull elk. It was Saturday night and my older sister & I just had our hair rolled for church the next morning. I was obviously thrilled to have my picture taken with the stupid elk and rollers in my hair.”

Pole Position

“Dysfunctional family vacation circa 1967. Why am I wearing that outfit? Why do my sisters and I have such strange expressions? Why is my mom the only one smiling? And why is she hiding behind the umbrella pole?”
