My Buddy

“As a ballsy 8 year-old, I clearly had a specific vision and a mother who humored me. To this day, I wonder what that poor photographer was thinking.”

She’s Got Pull

“We had darling two-year-olds for our ring bearer and flower girl.  While we were trying to get a picture of me and my niece, the flower girl, our spirited ring bearer decided to have a yank at my veil which was of course cemented on to my head with a thousand bobby pins and hair spray.  I thought he was going to pull out a chunk!  Children are such angels.”

Wonderbread Girl

“I acknowledge that my arms look disproportionately huge in this photo, like I’m some oddly shaped monkey child. Awkwardness forever.”

An American Tail

“Family fun at Chuck E. Cheese’s for my birthday.  As a parent myself, I find this photo highly disturbing, and causes me to question my entire childhood.  I mean, what kind of parent allows their daughter to wear socks with sandals?!”

You Go, Girl

Throw your hands in the air and wave them like you just don’t care.

Upside Down

“We had taken our son to Sears for a photo session. We received the proofs and ordered prints, not realizing that his middle finger was proudly displayed in the photo.  It wasn’t until years later we noticed it.”

Roll Bounce

“This was taken early 1965. I was posing with my favorite truck while my sisters roller skated in the driveway. The oldest sister has a unconvincing ‘I didn’t do it’ look while my other sister goes down hard.”

The Dribbler Revisited

Well, we’ve been hearing from some our favorite AFP-ers this week and this man is no exception. Jim A.K.A “The Dribbler” sent us this photo of his sister to prove that she taught him everything he knows.

Apparently, it runs in the family.

Center Of Attention Revisited

A huge thanks to AFP royalty, Alex, from the classic Center Of Attention for sending another pic of her memorable holiday portrait session.

Urban Cowboy

“This was one of my most awkward years, early 80’s when Urban Cowboy was blowing up at the box office.  My school decided that spring photos would be exactly that. Well I am not sure if that was the greatest of ideas, but its given my family, facebook and now hopefully AFP plenty more laughs!!!”
