Carved Up

“My mother-in-law forced my wife and her two sisters to get into holiday spirit and carve pumpkins. Their expressions range from ‘angry’ to ‘I will kill you in your sleep.’ My wife is on the right and she clearly wasn’t having it.”

The Cowboy Missionary

“My uncle Matt (on the right) moved from California to Montana to do missionary work. Guess he took to the cowboy lifestyle.”

F Is For Family

“Boston in the early 80s. My cousin is in the Mr. Nonsense shirt, and living up to that name. My aunt has a very original ‘necklace.’ My brother was apparently trapped inside and trying to get in on the photo action. And Mom was having none of it.”

My Friend The Druid

“I was having my senior photos taken and decided that I wanted something different than everyone else. Something that was fun and wasn’t so cookie-cutter. My friend, who was killing some time with me, got a Druid’s cloak from the trunk of my car, (Who didn’t have one of those in their car? It was the 90’s after all), and lurked around in the background.
I dunno, I kind of like it.”

First Impression

“Uncle Ben thought he would exude confidence on his first day of work doing sales in a call center. He had owned the same car since high school and thought it was really cool and drove it everywhere until it eventually broke down. His fancy city people clothes were purchased at a local thrift shop for the interview and for his first day of work. He wanted to appear as a true sales professional. How he got the job, we may never know!”

Their Lucky Day

“My five sisters, our mom, and I at an Easter family gathering. Gigi and Sassy were feeling the Spring fever!”

The Face of Jealousy

“My oldest son was given this motorbike by his grandpa. Here he is, posing proudly on his superhero-themed bike. His poor little brother was obviously upset that he was too young for such a gift, and as I was snapping photos I just so happened to capture the face of pure evil in the background. I believe he’s plotting his revenge!”

Dad’s Decoy

“This is my dad, who insisted on setting up his deer decoy that the UPS delivered while he was at work. Not having time to change, he went for a more casual look by just taking off his shirt.”

Making It Rain

“My husband and I were on vacation in Florida with our boys. I thought a photo of them at the picnic table was a cute idea. Important detail: my youngest son was being potty trained at the time. I had him in an over-large t-shirt with his training undies off after a day on the beach. When my youngest decided to pull up his t-shirt, I went ahead and took the shot anyway with his dad happily unaware of what was happening behind him.”

Pack Of Poodles

“There’s a reason Dad called us his poodles.”
