Kids Messing Stuff Up
Daughter Brawl
“This pretty much sums up my childhood. I’m the blond on the left burying my head in my sister’s lap while she gets in a cheap shot. The youngest is fish-hooking my other sister while my mother looks on and laughs. My father is letting everyone know what his future looks like with four daughters like these.”

The Metaphor
“Our newborn son was less than a week old when during a change when he projectile pooped directly into the center of a fan heater. This hit the whirling fan blades spraying its insides and heating element (imagine the awkward smell), the side of the bed, the carpet and my wife. Great shot, son. Luckily I had my camera on hand to capture this rare and awkward moment when a metaphor was made literal.”

Surrender
“Our perfect family photo shoot was only a little hampered by my 2 year old granddaughter who decided to throw a complete fit during the sitting. We gave up trying to get her to look good and let her ‘do her own thing.’ She ended up at the bottom of the stairs and we went on without her…so to speak.”

Taking The Plunge
“My father took this picture of me, the toddler in the pink coat, at the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris in 1978. All the adults look happy, but oblivious to the girl falling in the water in the background.”

One Fall Day
“One Fall day when the two and four year old were done with the shoot.”

Mistake On The Lake
“We stayed at this lovely lakeside resort in McCall, Idaho and the hope was to capture a scenic and memorable photo for our annual holiday/Christmas card. ‘Memorable’ is what we ended up with because we dared to suggest our two year old say ‘cheeeeeeze’ for the photo.”

Chalk Dirty To Me
“I wasn’t feeling well and needed a nap. My husband took our boys outside to play with the sidewalk chalk I’d just purchased. This was the fruit of their labors. Not sure what the neighbors thought.”
