The Demon Bush

“Twenty-five years after dummy broke up with me, I married him.  It was the sweetest thing in the world and his brother agreed to take photographs of us at the local museum.  I was going through the pictures when I saw I totally blocked my husband out with my big hair. Then a good friend of mine pointed out the bush in the background looks like a demon. Needless to say, it elevated this photograph to Super Awkward Status.”

Styling & Profiling

“This is my little sister on picture day. I remember she did not want curls in her hair that morning. The profile says it all. I guess they got her to cheer up eventually!”

The Triangle

“My mother got her hairdresser diploma in 1987. I was a poor innocent victim of her experiments. I guess she put a billiard triangle around my head and put in some hairspray.”

Baby Bite

“I’m about 2 or 3 in this photo. We were at a family friend’s wedding and apparently, my mom was having fun dancing and not paying attention to me.  I bit her in the butt, legend has it that I drew blood. Another classic family story.”

First Date

This is me on my very first date. The lovely young lady in the photo took pity on me and said ‘yes’ when I invited her to the 1987 Los Fresnos, Texas High School Homecoming Game. (We were in 7th grade.) As you can tell, I’m REALLY happy to be on a date.

Burn Baby Burn

“My family after a day of skiing. Looks like dad forgot sunscreen. The little red head (my sister) had to go to the hospital because her eyes swelled shut.”

The New Kid

“Donnie Wahlberg awkwardly feeding me a pickle from his cheeseburger. I actually did not know who the New Kids on the Block were. My dad worked on cruise ships and I always went with him. He made me go up there for this picture and I was terrified of them. Of course I am now thrilled to have this picture.”
