I do not get this!! D: what am i looking for!?!?!!
Check out the animals behind them.
My eyes went straight to it after i read it, haha i would have never noticed
That is photoshopped, the couple is light with studio lights, and the background is a warm yellow. The couple is also way to over sharpened and the background is nice and soft.
Don’t care if it is photoshopped, it’s funny as hell.
Spreadin the love around! Classic!
Why must everyone judge their sexy time?
The man’s expression suggests he knows what is going on behind them. Like he decided on the photo at that moment.
lets do it like they do on the discovery channel!
As a lighting designer, I regret to inform you that there is no way the light on the couple is natural. It is definetly artificial lighting. I’d even venture to guess that the color filter over the instrument is a Roscolux R51 or R54. It doesn’t take a lighting designer to see that the light on the couple is waaay more in the blue spectrum than the heavily saturate amber everywhere else. I didn’t even notice the supposed fake donkey reflection (entirely possible by the way) and I was already calling photoshop just because of the insane difference in lighting conditions.
O Mr. Lighting designer, no kidding its different lighting conditions. Shot in the evening with warm sunlight and supplemental studio stobes. Its a portrait photograph from a photographer not a point and shoot camera. Just because there is a wide range of color temps doesn’t mean its photoshopped. Different lighting sources but not different pictures. And tell mr wrekin richie that the depth of field is why the background is soft not because its photoshopped.
I think there is more than the couple in this photo who are excited about this shoot
I don’t think the “donkey” on top is a donkey at all…I’m I the only one that sees a golden retriever on the donkey?? And no, it is not photoshopped.
Just glad it’s not the other way around….
stop it, this is NOT photoshopped! why would anyone photoshop something like that? its amusing yes and its a good memory to laugh about but its a photoshoot, people! they sometimes (most of the times) use big white panels to reflect more light for the model in the picture. obviously the water is not photoshopped either, just try sometimes at a lake. it DOES reflect that perfect sometimes. and the shadows in the trees are real but clearly the photographer used white panels to enlight the couple in the picture
What a lucky couple! I would love to come across a gem like this on my roll of film.
this is photoshopped. the shadow on the couple doesnt coincide with the shadow made by the trees.
ever heard of a reflector? you know those things professional photographers use?
This does appear to be photoshopped, probably not to put the donkeys in the background, but it looks like the Flood action from Flaming Pear was used to create the water, prolly just a hilly area. The fingers on the woman are too straight, and feel tense but other than that and the … donkeys … I like the pic
If this were my couple photo, it would definitely be above the mantel. It took me a min to figure out the awkwardness, but then I was laughing my ahem…ass off!!
Did you all miss his right hand middle finger?
Hee HAW!
Yeah, at first I didn’t’ notice anything and actually thought that maybe it was because the man ‘sort of’ looks like he is flipping the bird…then I noticed the donkeys. Though I agree with a comment above how the perspective seems to be way off for the donkeys to appear as a reflection in the water. I’m guessing a very possible photoshop job here.
It has to be photoshopped..if you look at the reflection in the water..there are things being reflected in the water that are NOT actually there to be reflected…now how would that happen? Also, the Donkeys are too far away to have their reflection to be perfectly reflected like that. You wouldn’t see them unless they were floating in the air! Nice try! It’s funny but not logical even if you say you know them or not!
ha ha, judging by the look on the mans face, I think HE KNEW what was going on in the background-and is ok with it.
Great Pic Julie. Is that here in town? Love it!!!
yeha i was looking at the photo, like… hmm this looks like a good photo actually… then scroll my eyes over… OOOOooooooo… o…. ew. haha
Sorry to rain on the parade, but speaking as an artist from a family of artists: due to the laws of perspective the animals in the background are neither close enough to the water’s edge nor of sufficient height (such as tall trees) to be reflected in the water as depicted in the scene above. However, it is an amusing picture.
I agree with you. It is quite funny but they would literally have to be floating in the air in order for their reflection to be seen!
Well, speaking as a photographer and a person with eyes.. it’s pretty obvious you need glasses. The embankment is high and the animals are closer to the edge of the water than what you can perceive in the photograph.
And this photo is awesome quality. Almost makes me want to switch to Nikon…. but not quite.
“And as a person with eyes.”
I think I love you.
What a loving couple!
The old folks are cute, too…
Husband: “Smile, honey!” Wife: “This will be a lovely addition to our album.” Donkey: “I’ve been really tryyyyyyyyin’ baby…to hold back this feelin’ for soooooooooooo loooooong…”
come on. OOOOOOOOO come on!!
Both couples look very happy.
Great observation!
Love it. It’s a great photo and then you see the donkeys. How sweet that it’s reflected in the water! Bahahaha! They should make this into a puzzle. hehehehe
I’d buy that.
this is classic AFP
Where are you from? Is it a secret?
Elcorin
Truly award-winning awkwardness! It took me a second like others, and then it hit me, not once, but twice with the reflection! Great pic!
Double your pleasure!
double the fun!
I didn’t notice the reflection til i read your comment. lol again!
*scrolls back up* LOL
lol just did the same thing. this picture is a gift that keeps on giving…
awwww yeaaaaaaaa
That is so unfortunate. This was such a cute pic otherwise.
Are you kidding me? So NOT unfortunate! What good fortune to have a photo that everyone will be talking about and laughing about for years to come!
maybe the real question is not how did they not see them, but how did they not hear them?!
HEEE-HAAAW!!!
I tried my hardest not to laugh at this.
I’m sure my co-worker thinks I’m crazy.
hahahahaha!!! it took me a while to figure out what was awkward about this!
oh my god! I thought the same thing!
Me too! And then I just about died when I found it!!
I know this family. I’m friends with the photographer. Believe me, she did NOT photoshop this. What is so hard to believe about donkeys having “la la” time in the background? Actually, there is an entire series of family pictures and I witnessed myself when someone noticed the donkeys in the background over on flickr. It had everyone in stitches, but it certainly was NOT photoshopped.
As for the coolness of the couple in the photo. The lady there used to babysit me. And yes, she is one hip lady.
Great photo, Julie. This continues to make me laugh whenever I see it. Congrats on getting it on the awkward family photo site.
Yea. “Getting it on”
Yup, no photoshopping, it’s real, I can’t stand people on this site who believe everything is photoshopped, get a life!
AHAHAHA! That is too funny! I’m sure it’s real, animals have needs too! Lol
the whole photoshop thing is just a very old internet joke. People do it on nearly every photo (especially if it is very obviously NOT photoshopped) just to get a rise out of people.
