The alternate reality nightmare that keeps Don Draper up at night.
Casper the Ghost (boy in middle) BEFORE he died….
HOLY COW..Dad is in living color, and the others are in black and white…wait a minute…did anyone see…”Pleasentville”? Remember what happened to the Mother…she turned to LIVING COLOR when she………see the movie
HELLO!! Why is everyone picking on the “middle” child…clearly she is MARRIED!! Look at that ring finger. She would rather be with her OWN family
“Come on Danny we want to play with you forever and eva…” “What about her??” Yeah her too, for eva and eva.”
is it the von traps?
Look, Mr. Bubbles, it’s an angel! I can see light coming out of his belly!
BEST COMMENT EVER
I showed this to my 17 year old and she went and hid in her bedroom!
Isn’t that what 17 year olds do in response to everything?
LMAO!! So true!
They all look so pale and bleached out except for Ward Cleaver, looks like he just got back from the beach with that tan!
Awwww, looks like someone dug up an old photo of Blanche, Dorothy, Sophia and Rose…
Most serial killers are supposed to be middle children. I’m just sayin’. LOL
Oh jeez, I remember having to have my hair in curlers for about a day and a half, and then one of my stepmonsters combing it out til I tried, then so much hair spray that I couldn’t breathe. It always resulted in this Big Helmet Head Hair. I hated it SO MUCH!!
The kid in the middle will eat your soul. For serious.
Something seemed familiar with the girls. Agreed there is something eerie about them. While looking at the picture now, it hit me. They all look like my Chatty Cathy doll that I had in the 1960s. They have the hairdo like the doll had and their outfits… like the doll had on. Living Chatty Cathy dolls… or could they be animated Chatty Cathies.
Note: Chatty Cathy was a doll made by the Mattel Toy company in the 1960s. They had a ring and and a cord on the back of their necks. Pull it, the doll talked in a sweet doll’s voice, phrases like Be my friend or I love you.
and the middle one comes right from that episode of “twilight zone” with the doll who wants to kill Telly Salavas
You know the shadows are caused by middle daughter setting the photographer on fire with her mind.
And little brother can’t wait to revert back to his natural vampire bat state.
LOVE it!!! your post has me LMAO!!!!
Damn, that one looks mean!
Poor kids. I wonder where they are now? The girl in the middle reminds me of the girl in The Exorcist. In the next photo, will her head be backwards? But maybe they are all fine. After all, I was the only boy of four, and look at me. Well, OK, I guess I made the opposite point! But hopefully THESE kids are OK. If only Mommy had put the girls in pearls, too, it would be perfect.
Hahaha, they’re all incredibly successful! Two of them are lawyers, one is a nurse educator, and the other is a teacher. And all of them have no less than a master’s degree!
Has anyone mentioned that this looks like these kids could grow up to be the adults from that REALLY creepy holiday post here. You all remember it, the one of the two women and man in a Hitchcock like setting that was supposed to be Christmas.
The middle girl is thinking, “I’ll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too!”
What cracks me up is that mom’s hair is almost “normal” for that era. The daughters’ hair, on the other hand, looks SO severe in comparison.
I can smell the Aqua Net hairspray from here.
“So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbyeeee……”
Did you google how to spell Auf Wiedersehen? If not I am impressed.
The pearls! The hankie! The bow tie! This is the perfect awkward photo. I think this site’s job is done now.
Village of the Damned, anyone?
shun the toothy brunette one. she is the unwanted child.
Shunnnnnn!
I don’t know about you guys, but the little boy makes the picture for me!
I’ll bet he does.
They are darling!
It gave me a headache.
This is wayyyyyyyyyy too creepy. It’s like from a horror film!!!!!!!!!
Gah… I feel like at any moment those children will emerge from the corn chanting “Malachai! He wants you too, Malachai. He wants you too!”
.What’s with all the negative comments?
One little… two little… three little Palins.
Can Mom explain why three of the children have blond hair?
Daddy’s hankie is so neat and perfect too. Those kids look sweet, until you have to babysit for them.
I like this photo because you can tell this is a pretty normal, happy family. Mom spent a lot of time getting them all perfect for their family photo. (Like I used to) And though it’s not “awkward” it’s kinda quirky because of the era differrence, the do’s and the obviously mischevious young lady in the front!!
not “awkward”??????????????
do you even KNOW what the word “awkward” means????
You can just tell that boy is the king in this house! He’s so cute!
I no hes adorable! doesnt really fit in with the rest of the family though
I love this! My mom had a hairdo like those girls when she was about twelve, and my uncle (a year younger) had a flat top. I feel for the girl with the buck teeth. She looks like she just heard Mom and Dad talking about a visit to the orthodontist–in those days, braces were nothing to smile about! No clear wires or cutesy colored rubber bands, just lots of metal.
I didn’t realized you could enlist into the Marines at the age of four!
with hugh beumont…and jerry mathers…as the beaver!
The girl in the middle looks snarky!
She reminds me of Gilly from the Saturday Night Live skit.
LOL Gilly… her hand is in a fist!
I thought the same thing – Gilly…. Gilly!
Does anyone else think that is the greatest TV family of all time, and want to live with them forever?
Or maybe not … the Dad looks like he might have some “issues” …
i thought they looked like a sit come family too. “They’re cousins, identical cousins all the way!”
Mom gave birth to three old ladies. Why do they all 80 year old lady hair???
The Stepford sisters or Children of the Corn? Why is the dad the only one with color in his face? The rest are deathly pale!
Mom scrubbed the rest of their faces until they glowed white.
because he’s the one with the key to the lock.
FTW!
The hair, the hair, I just can’t get past the hair.
Mommy held on just a little TOO tight.
…and the girl in the middle looks like she’s trying to start a fire.
or she is getting ready to chew through the restraints
“Light as a feather, stiff as a board!”
XD
the middle one is the odd one out!
It’s cute now, but I knew a girl who wore the exact same hairdo as her mom all the way through high school. It was odd. That middle girl looks like she’s ready to cut loose as soon as photo shoot is over!
Can I put on my red/blue glasses and see this in 3D??
Hahahaha : )
You mean it’s not already 3D?
After so many attempts, they finally got their son!
Is this from the early 60s???
YES! Every time I see a picture like this, it’s all I can think of.
We have a little girl after having 3 boys…and THAT my friend, is what so many people assume!
What’s with all the shadows in the photo..it makes me dizzy lookin’ at all of them. Has to be an amateur job!
I agree! Creepy…the shadow knows!
Seriously? It’s the *shadows* you find creepy?
