I think this is awkward because they are so embedded together. It looks like couple’s yoga. But you can see they are in love.

  2. Jeighlynn says:

Awesome! Now invert it so we can get this Electric Company thing going.. Say it with me now.. LO–> <–VE LOVE! \o/

  3. taped says:

    I love lamp.

    “You light up my life…”

the girl’s back has to hurt to sit that way.

I avoid posed lovey dovey shots at all costs–group me in with the “I hate PDA” club as well.

Side thought: Why does every photographer feel the need for a wedding party jumping shot? no really why? I hope this era ends soon.

  4. Justme says:

    Get a room!!

  5. Danilo says:

No. This one’s normal. They’re in love!

  6. Nia Moore says:

I will now reward you with 5 minutes of un-interrupted eye contact. Go.

  7. Huck Stewart says:

Ok everybody here it from the guy in the picture.

    Yes awkward pose for us.
No on the backdrop, this is a real location and we were actually asked to leave literally 5 seconds after this picture.
Yes, I actually like it but No it didn’t actually make our announcements, and No I have no experience whatsoever in photography/lighting/backgrounds/angles/modeling poses.
No we did not actually pay our wonderful friend Erin for these pictures though we did take her out to Lunch after. She was great enough to ask us if she could do it and post some on her website. But she is an awesome friend that does a little photography on the side and I would love to direct any of you to her website if A) you would like to seek her business or B) you would like to giver her helpful and constructive suggestions/comments.

My poor wife has to put up with a lot more awkwardness than just this, but we have a lot of good laughs!

Thanks for your guy’s comments, it make me laugh out loud… I don’t mean “lol” I actually did laugh out loud. Oh man, anyway I’ll have to show my wife. She’ll get a kick out of this.

    • Huck Stewart says:

Oh yeah and one more thing. Someone said that she should have been on the other side to show off her ring (which she does actually have) but the ring isn’t big enough to show off… you need a magnifying glass to see the diamond… I guess we didn’t go the traditional rout to take out a loan to but a big diamond ($2000+) like many people do. But I show her I love her in many other ways e.g.. secure and full savings account even while we are both still in school and an awesome honeymoon/dates. I recommend this to anybody thinking about getting married. Of course it helps to date a girl who doesn’t value materials as much as experiences Liz is just awesome that way! Love you cute girl!!!

  8. susie says:

Hmmmm, wonder what that lamppost is supposed to symbolize.

  9. Carla says:

    HUCK!!! No freaking way!
PS the lamp post is real.

    • Huck Stewart says:

      Ha Ha thanks Sis!

PS How did we ever get posted on something like this? Does Erin know that someone took her photo and posted it on here?

Just wondering. It was posted by an “Andrew” but the only Andrew I know is actually in Basic training.

  10. Gail says:

I think the lamp post was later photoshopped.

  11. Jeff says:

This pic would’ve made a great ad for a lighting company. Then again…. maybe it was?

  12. SapientPearwood says:

Do you see a candle holder or two faces looking at each other?

  13. ALO says:

As a photographer, this photo is extremely awkward! The pose is suggestive and just goofy. I can’t imagine asking my subjects to sit down and wrap their legs around each other.

  14. james flynn says:

    .Ain’t love Grand?

  15. Günther says:

This pic is great! like it very much

  16. connie says:

I’m a little distracted by the glowing grass in the foreground.

  17. lola says:

i know these two and they are so cute. this is totally them (and i can almost guarantee they were having a staring contest) their names are huck and liz and they’re one of those ridiculous happy couples we all wish we could be.

  18. Michael says:

    Siamese fraternal twins. How wierd!

    • scruffy says:

That’s good but to me it looks like Siamese twins who sat on a lamppost and neither will admit who was responsible.

  19. Angie says:

that woman looks a lot like my cousin…but that man looks nothing like her husband…

  20. JBoz says:

Nice couple, but it is without question a goofy pose. Actually, most poses are goofy…and I would give this a 5 out of 10 on the goofiness scale. And the layout of the shot is ridiculously awkward…not even sure where to start…I would give this an 8 out of 10 on the bad photography scale. There is no way this was professional shoot. I learned in high-school photography not to have street signs sprouting out of the subject’s head, or for that matter lamp posts emerging from their torsos.

  21. Harry says:

Come on guys … this picture is cute. There is nothing wrong with this.

  22. Jennifer says:

Not your best post, this is actually okay. Haha.

  23. Tim S says:

We had a trinity candle at our wedding. Looks like these two have a trinity lamppost!

  24. kokonono says:

Nothing weird going on here except the weedy background and the big lamppost.

  25. mrs5180 says:

ummm the pose IS awkward–it’s kind of a suggestive positon to put a couple in. Plus for the type of pose it is, they look uncomfortable and and unnatural—for instance her hand.

  26. skyeleo says:

THREE’S COMPANY! (the third being the lampost.)

  27. Bruce says:

Honey, I promise you nothing will ever get between us….except maybe this LAMPPOST!

  28. Denise says:

Whoever blinks first loses! Whaddya bet THAT game ended in a stalemate…lol

  29. yeah, the eyes are a little funny, but the really awkward part is that they are being upstaged by the huge lampost. just weird

  30. Snorbert says:

It’s like, I’m invading their special moment just by looking at this photo.

  31. DrStrangelove says:

Ahhh, young love, puppy love… I remember those days! (and I’m glad they’re way behind me!!)

  32. Suzie says:

I won’t lie-I think this one is actually cute. I like it.

  33. Jonathan says:

umm, this one looks normal to me?

  34. RMC says:

It’s not so bad….I just don’t like the lamp in the middle. Too much going on on the center of the photograph!

  35. KJ says:

Hmm…I think this is cute. But if we are going to nit-pick… They could have pulled that one weed by her pant leg, the house in the background is leaning and, if this is an engagement photo, she should have been on the right so her ring would have shown.

    • AJ says:

LOL. You’re right about all your points. Also, it would have been nice to have been taken on a sunny day…Cute photo otherwise.

      • Lisa S says:

Well looking at the scenery………it looks like a back drop to me. I agree, she should have been on the right so we could see her ring.

        • Huck Stewart says:

Ha ha oh man, this is cool, I never thought I would make one of these. But yeah this is actually my wife and I. And It is a real house (a historic sight next to Judd’s Store in St. George.) We weren’t supposed to be there and we actually got kicked off their lot before we had time to set up. The lamp post lights were all on except one burned out so our photographer was awesome enough to photoshop the third light on. Needless to say this did not make our final announcement I can, however, promise you that this one was one of the least awkward pictures we took. We have some real good ones that we still laugh about. You can check them out on my facebook page. I’m the only Huck Stewart in Utah… Cheers!

          • Jean says:

Cheers to you, Huck, for having such a good sense of humor about this. 😀 I think the picture is awkward in a completely adorable sort of way, and a previous commenter is right that it captures how you two really seem to be very into each other, which is wonderful. Congrats on your marriage!

          • Ambree Hall says:

never thought i would recognize anyone on this site!!!

  36. Shiloh says:

Very cute engagement picture. What is so awkward about this ?

  37. Laura says:

Am I missing something? I think this is cute.

  38. Brian says:

If they could have only gotten this close at the high school dance.

  39. m says:

do you see two people, or a lamppost?
