    • Wyngs says:

It’s just the lighting- he’s leaning over thus creating a darker shade of the foot in the back. Same with the woman.

  7. Jenny says:

I have to say the best thing about AFP is their captions!

  8. slightlyconfused says:

I think this is the Track coach at my high school! Also my former ASL teacher! I recognize the guy, but I’m not sure why…. Can’t explain the pose though.

  9. Marlene says:

ONE OF THE FUNNIEST CAPTIONS EVER!!!!! I LMFAO, wow, who the hell comes up with them? I almost don’t need the pictures to find them hilarious 🙂

    Keep it up folks!!!

  10. tishwishes says:

    I find his socks hysterical.

    • Billy says:

Me too! The first thing that popped into my mind was, ‘Good Lord!”, quickly followed by, “The socks! My God, the Socks!” ha! They truly add that final awkward touch that sends it to the realm of truly awkward, bizarre, and ultimately, hilarious.

  11. Nerd says:

No need for toilet paper, just use a leaf

  12. Alan says:

If you invert the picture,it is a stylised love heart. OK,that takes care of the awkward pose,BUT, now to imagine the photo framed ,on the wall….we’re back to awkward !!!

In order for one to understand the primate world, one (or two) must BECOME the primates.

Yeah, I am pitching this idea to animal planet.

  14. Quinn says:

I love this picture! it looks affectionate in a primitive sort of way.

  18. Beki says:

You know, I wished I could bend like that too, tried it, and realized I could. Everybody learns something at AFP.

  19. Janellionaire says:

i dunno, the more i look at it the more i think it’s kinda cute.

  20. parrothead says:

Wish I could bend like that.

  21. nerdygirl says:

This is a completely normal position for all ages in the non-industrialized world, where people don’t spend all day sitting on office chairs or family room sofas. It’s actually very comfortable when you’re used to it.

Perhaps they’re both anthropologists, or primatologists.

It’s actually a beautiful photo, technically speaking.

We wants it, we needs it. Must have the Precious. They stole it from us.

  26. LKT says:

What a strange pose for a picture. Did they meet when they both squatted to pick up the same item? Did they meet panning for gold in the same stream? Eliminate behind the same bush on a camp out? So many questions…

  27. j-lu says:

i just cannot imagine the direction given on this. his hands are cupped outwardly and hers folded back into his… what does it all MEAN?!
maybe they are sitting on tiny photoshopped-out thrones and are the giant king and queen of somewhere, performing a magic cupping ritual that makes the background completely disappear?

  28. marilee says:

    Maybe they’re yoga instructors??

  29. Stacy says:

What is with the monkey stance?

  30. This is why I only pose for pictures inspired by western toilets.

  36. Alison says:

  37. Trishee says:

    Weird….I just don’t get it.

  38. jesse says:

    haha why?

  39. Jennie Rose says:

I love this picture because 1) it’s a completely awkward family (daughter/father?) photo; 2) the way they are holding hands is really odd; 3) few people can squat this way (heels touching the floor- bottoms on their heels). Quite awkward… quite interesting… love it. 🙂

  40. adrianne says:

ouch! that hurts to look at…
