Love lift us up where we belong, but always lift with the knees.

Theory of Evolution is completely explained with this picture.
Romance evolves as Charles Darwin meets Jane Goodall
and with the perfect subtitle!
The couple that squats together stay together.
Because they can’t get up to leave.
Jane Goodall School of Photography?
…is it my eyes, or is Pops wearing two different colored socks? Just askin’…
It’s just the lighting- he’s leaning over thus creating a darker shade of the foot in the back. Same with the woman.
I have to say the best thing about AFP is their captions!
I think this is the Track coach at my high school! Also my former ASL teacher! I recognize the guy, but I’m not sure why…. Can’t explain the pose though.
ONE OF THE FUNNIEST CAPTIONS EVER!!!!! I LMFAO, wow, who the hell comes up with them? I almost don’t need the pictures to find them hilarious
Keep it up folks!!!
I totally agree!!! Here’s another of my FAV captions!!!
I think this is my favorite caption ever!
I find his socks hysterical.
Me too! The first thing that popped into my mind was, ‘Good Lord!”, quickly followed by, “The socks! My God, the Socks!” ha! They truly add that final awkward touch that sends it to the realm of truly awkward, bizarre, and ultimately, hilarious.
No need for toilet paper, just use a leaf
If you invert the picture,it is a stylised love heart. OK,that takes care of the awkward pose,BUT, now to imagine the photo framed ,on the wall….we’re back to awkward !!!
In order for one to understand the primate world, one (or two) must BECOME the primates.
Yeah, I am pitching this idea to animal planet.
I love this picture! it looks affectionate in a primitive sort of way.
In the next picture in this sequence, he picks through her hair while she chews on a banana leaf.
Now *that’s* funny!
Curling players in the summertime.
that comment made me laugh out loud!
Perhaps this is a poster to advertise an upcoming conference on evolution?
You know, I wished I could bend like that too, tried it, and realized I could. Everybody learns something at AFP.
i dunno, the more i look at it the more i think it’s kinda cute.
Wish I could bend like that.
This is a completely normal position for all ages in the non-industrialized world, where people don’t spend all day sitting on office chairs or family room sofas. It’s actually very comfortable when you’re used to it.
Perhaps they’re both anthropologists, or primatologists.
It’s actually a beautiful photo, technically speaking.
blah blah blah I’m sure the way they hold hands is a non-industrialized world thing too.
lol blah blah blah
Wow, that was a completely awkward explanation.
I know a guy who can sit like that for hours, he says it’s the most comfortable thing in the world! He’s tall and thin and with flat calves, his legs actually look to be designed for it.
I, however find my feet going numb after a minute or two. And no, I’m not short and squat. Okay, I’m short.
Agree. It is comfortable. The lighting is good but the pose .. meh
Synchronized Cheese Cutting never really took off.
LOL! Love this comment!
We wants it, we needs it. Must have the Precious. They stole it from us.
What a strange pose for a picture. Did they meet when they both squatted to pick up the same item? Did they meet panning for gold in the same stream? Eliminate behind the same bush on a camp out? So many questions…
lmao panning for gold
Double LMAO at the panning for gold
i just cannot imagine the direction given on this. his hands are cupped outwardly and hers folded back into his… what does it all MEAN?!
maybe they are sitting on tiny photoshopped-out thrones and are the giant king and queen of somewhere, performing a magic cupping ritual that makes the background completely disappear?
okay, you took too much time coming up with that explanation. But i totally loved it!
Maybe they’re yoga instructors??
And once again, I spit Diet Coke on my monitor…
yogis could come up with a more interesting pose methinks … this is not a common yoga posture anyway, tho they are flexible I guess.
If they aren’t instructors, they definitely do have some sort of yoga in their life. The posture of their hands has a lot to say for their relationship. The knowing eye could see the exchange of energy between the two.
What is with the monkey stance?
This is why I only pose for pictures inspired by western toilets.
obscure, yet appropriate. Bravo
yes lift with the knees – and wear clean socks.
Or at least use a decent amount of foot powder, if you’re going barefoot.
Curvature of the spine? Mom always said to sit up straight and no slouching. See what happens!
shorties getting low, low, low, low, low, low, lowwwww
AA ha ha ha ha ha!!! Priceless!
gotta turn around if she’s gonna “back it up”
You gotta give the guy credit for getting down that low… The question is can he get himself back up?
Weird….I just don’t get it.
I love this picture because 1) it’s a completely awkward family (daughter/father?) photo; 2) the way they are holding hands is really odd; 3) few people can squat this way (heels touching the floor- bottoms on their heels). Quite awkward… quite interesting… love it.
I’m thinking they are a father-daughter primatologist team, and this is their ape pose….. ? I don’t know, it’s my best guess!
This is Darryl Hannah’s stand-in for Clan of the Cave Bear and her squatting coach.
…Maybe they’re archaeologists?
I’m an archaeologist and I have never posed for a picture like that….
ouch! that hurts to look at…
