There’s a whole lot of perfectly feathered hair in this shot – simply beautiful. The little boy’s pants are a pinnacle of 1970s fashion sense. Here’s the photographer: “And ladies, we have these enormous, velour pillows for you today. Get comfy in your dresses, on the floor – except for you, ma’am, you can perch on the wooden armrest of this enormous royal throne…”
I am guessing that the women are all sisters. The brunettes are with their husbands, and the blonde is single – she is hugging her nephew, the son of the sitting couple. Any takers?
I’ve got it! The man sitting and the woman with her arm around him are married… the woman with dark hair sitting and the dark haired man are the married woman’s bro and sis and the light haired woman sitting is the man’s sister and her little boy!….. they are ready for that 50 sec clock!!
Okay, so how are these people related? Based on the physical contact, I get that the two people wearing ties are probably married, but who is everybody else?
oh my god thanks so much for saying that! i was literally scrolling through these comments to see if anyone else noticed that that guy looks CRIMINALLY close to a college-aged rusty venture! way to go:)
This requires an explanation.
I like the way they tried to coordinate their colors but do you think the photographer could have chosen a matching background
C’mon now. The men are gorgeous. Something I would be proud to bring home to Momma. Jealousy is an ugly thing. Let’s get it under control ladies! If he was around now. I would gooble him up…Fez looking or not… that’s class.
Producer- Now explain this to me again. Your sitcom is about a mother that is musically inclined, has five kids that can sing and play instruments, and they go around getting into funny situations and they always end the show singing to a crowd of people?
Writer- Trust me. People are gonna love it. And I’ve come up with the name for the show…The Pidgeon Family! What do you think?
The mom/child pair and the two dark-haired women look like they could be related…where oh where did the guys come from??? This DOES have a Big Love feeling, actually…but then how to explain the other dude? An exchange student, adopted or half-sibling, or some kind of rival who just showed up?
We used to refer to those polyester shirts with the graphics on them as “feely shirts.” Don’t you think the women are wearing either “Love’s Baby Soft” or “Jean Nate” too?

My brother had the same shoes as the seated guy. And he also wore them with his suits. It was certainly the style at that moment.
My uncle wore that exact suit to his wedding in the eighties. Pretty sure I’ve never seen it anywhere else.
Only the kid break the rules when it comes to combing his hair. Center parts ruled the 70s!
The “king” on the throne is wearing shoes that match his hair color perfectly.

This one needs to go in the AFP Hall of Fame.. for sure! Love the look of the 70′s..classic!
I can’t…. I don’t… I am just speechless at this one. TRUE awkwardness.
you’re supposed to give the genes some room to breathe

Good answer, good answer!
That is actually 100% true. My dad happens to be the one in the back right……..
They are the seldom-seen neighbors on One Day at a Time.
The truly creepy thing for me here is that that little boy looks exactly like me as a child, I’m gonna have to call my mom now…
LOL!
I’ve got it! The man sitting and the woman with her arm around him are married… the woman with dark hair sitting and the dark haired man are the married woman’s bro and sis and the light haired woman sitting is the man’s sister and her little boy!….. they are ready for that 50 sec clock!!
Some family members were added to the cast to improve TV ratings.
Okay, so how are these people related? Based on the physical contact, I get that the two people wearing ties are probably married, but who is everybody else?
What a pair of stud muffins! Lucky Ladies to be in the company of such eye candy.
if nothing else…this family has great hair care habits….everyone one of them has beautiful shiny hair. My 70′s pics..not so much.
“Gee… you hair smells terrific!”
lol…i use to love that shampoo!
This was the original cast of that 70′s show.
And that is SUCH a “Family Feud” pose. I will have that theme song as an ear worm all night long. Thanks AFP.
Ear worm?? eeww! lol
hahahaha my dad looked like that when he was a teen
I am betting a hundred to one that little boy hates plaid today all because of this photo.
Don’t worry, Jason, when you get big like us you can have feathered hair, too, and I’m sure it will be more popular than ever!
WOW! I did look like the Close Encounter kid!!! I just love this picture, it will live forever!
I think that blonde boy is just adorable!
Three-piece suit with casual loafers. It makes an otherwise great looking guy seem nos so put together.
It looks like a real life Rusty Venture.
oh my god thanks so much for saying that! i was literally scrolling through these comments to see if anyone else noticed that that guy looks CRIMINALLY close to a college-aged rusty venture! way to go:)
I did too. Thats Rusty and the guy in the back is possibly Dr. Orpheus
This requires an explanation.
I like the way they tried to coordinate their colors but do you think the photographer could have chosen a matching background
The little boy looks just like the kid from Close Encounters.
Or maybe they’re the cast for some weird cop show, complete with secretaries and the smart kid…
And why are they posed like the Addams Family???
I’m feeling sorry for the woman on the floor cushion. It makes her look like the family pet or something.
that’s hysterical-but true! Dogs sit on pillows like that!
Guy standing and guy sitting. Identical twins? I think so.
Polyester owes its life to the 70s.
Or does the 70′s owe its life to polyester?
C’mon now. The men are gorgeous. Something I would be proud to bring home to Momma. Jealousy is an ugly thing. Let’s get it under control ladies! If he was around now. I would gooble him up…Fez looking or not… that’s class.
I am so glad I was born into this family after this photo was taken…
Great! maybe you can explain the connections to the rest of us!
me too katie…..me too……
SANSABELT!
Haaaaa! Yes.
Slacks!
Sansabelt pants are a timeless classic
Oh, thank you for saying “sansabelt.” I love that word and never get to use it or see it anymore. It’s so continental!
Only at Sears!
Dear Lord I never got the name before..Sans A belt= no belt…,DUH!! I did think it was such a continental name.
thank you for pointing that out…I never got it either. hahaha

LOL
It was a different America.
One of these items doesn’t belong, one of these items is not like the other…
LOL! I was thinking of the same exact song!
EXACTLY!!!! LOL Awkwardly!!! Even the word looks awkward….
Nice caption!
Normal seventies picture, but one family member looks slightly different than the rest of the familia.
Slightly different??
chuckle
That watch looks like it could store phone numbers in 1979
The mom/child pair and the two dark-haired women look like they could be related…where oh where did the guys come from??? This DOES have a Big Love feeling, actually…but then how to explain the other dude? An exchange student, adopted or half-sibling, or some kind of rival who just showed up?
lol yes !
Atleast everyone has feathery FOXY hair!
Perfect Caption!
Look at ALL the qiana!
Molly .. you made me laugh. My closet was filled with qiana. Always wondered which animal or plant they made that fabric out of!!
We used to refer to those polyester shirts with the graphics on them as “feely shirts.” Don’t you think the women are wearing either “Love’s Baby Soft” or “Jean Nate” too?
OMG! I remember Love’s Baby soft. That and Blue Jeans. And I’m sure they’re wearing Bonne Bell Lip Smackers
How about Tickle deodorant?!?!
I was a Jontue girl myself.
don’t forget the “gee your hair smells terrific” shampoo
It’s like they KNEW it was the late 70′s
HA!
Isn’t this the cast of “That 70s show”?
Maybe the show was based on this photo!!!
These people are all going to vote for Pedro.
I’m so confused.
Hummmmmmmmmmmm! Very Interesting, is that Fez?
Is the guy standing Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite?
That was what I thought!
My thoughts, as well! LOL!
FTW! LMAO!
