LOL! I used to love this show! Do they still have this set on display for tourists? If so, I want to add “Posing in the Hee-Haw Corn Field” to my Bucket List!!!
That still shows on reruns here. And sometimes it is like a train wreck, I don’t wanna look, but I gotta. It’s even more annoying than I remember it as a kid. But sometimes you crave anything over Springer or Maury. Assuming they are actually three different shows yet it is hard to tell.
I love this picture, because it just reminded me that I also had a pair of Hee-Haw overalls as a kid in the late ’80′s. It was a great show, and those overalls should be a staple of any true southern child’s wardrobe!
HEE-HAW was a conspiracy by the Cable companies. During the 70′s and 80′s they would broadcast this over the airwaves for families like mine with only VHF/UHF limitations. HEE-HAW would follow “Fishing the West” My sisters and I were begging for Cable every week.
The Branson Mercantile (Missouri) still had Hee-Haw overalls as recently as 9 years ago. My friend and I bought 2 pair when our girls were little (at that time there was only 3 pair left after our purchase), but it was just for fun, b/c we were both born and raised in Branson and they were SO tacky we couldn’t resist buying them. The Branson Mercantile has since closed, but I’m sure I have those overalls stashed somewhere in my house.
That’s adorable… and uber-campy! I’ve gotta say that if offered the opportunity to have my photo taken like that, I would definitely consider it! Maybe it’s because I remember the show from when I was little. Hee-Haw was such a curiosity for me as a kid…
it is actually “nekkid” according to the premier Southern authority of Lewis Grizzard, the writer and comedian. “Naked” means you ain’t got no clothes on. “Nekkid” means you ain’t got no clothes on and you up to somethin! LOL
I had one in blue AND one in brown. I remember the day my older brother threw up all over the brown ones while I was wearing them. They were never the same.
Had the overall’s too, I called them my ha ha pants. I have a christmas photo of me with wearing them with Brady Bunch pigtails and a life size doll…I was five.

I want my picture taken here lol. Love Hee Haw and Lawrence Welk, still watch them every weekend.
And now ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty…..
They use to have this set at Opryland Themepark in Nashville back in the 80′s.
LOL! I used to love this show! Do they still have this set on display for tourists? If so, I want to add “Posing in the Hee-Haw Corn Field” to my Bucket List!!!
OMG! I remember the Hee Haw overalls!
ok…did everyone miss that it looks like the mom is topless?? um…..ahaha
weird, i have those hee-haw overalls in an adult size. my mom gave them to me. so far i’ve only worn them on halloween..
My little twin sisters had the exact same overalls but where they got the whole stage set from is beyond me.

You see, in spite of its stupid title, corny jokes, dated music, and cheap sets, Hee Haw really was a cool show.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Miss Loretta Lynn….
My best friend had these overalls and sneaked them to school on picture day. At the time, her mom was furious, but now we all think it’s hilarious.
I had the same overalls and wore them b/4 I was old enough to know better
I’m trying to figure out if I was the only one who was denied Hee-haw overalls or lucky I didn’t get them….GOT IT! lucky
Well at least the parents weren’t into the Lawrence Welk show…
Gloom, despair and agony on me!
The only thing that would make this funnier would be if the parents were wearing only barrels!

Great Picture,,, I thought I had the only pair of those!!!
SAAAAAAAAA-LUTE!!
They said they were saluting small towns, but almost all of them were larger than all the towns in my home county. Combined.

…gloom, despair and agony on me!
Deep dark depression, excessive misery…
I had those overalls too!
The Palins. You laugh now, but this is what could be coming to a white house near you. As the banjo strums out…
FUNNY!!!
oh how i hope that is true. that would be so much better than what’s there now!
Aw come on… can’t we get 5 seconds without politics? Does it have to be inserted into EVERYTHING???
Yes – politics are hard to resist here, since the picture fits the Palin.
Politics…Photoshop…Compound Bow
Now, that’s over, back to the overalls!!!
Where oh where are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over and thought I found true love..
(well now I feel like a dork) sorry for all the re-post.
I searched the world over and thought I’d found true love. You met another and pfffftht you were gone!
This is one of the first songs I learned to sing as a child.
Great. Now it’s stuck in my head. I used to LOVE Hee Haw. I’m such a dork.
Aahhhm pickin’, and aahhhm grinnin’!
This is one of the most embarrassing pictures I’ve seen on this site thus far.
I’m with you on that one, Laura.
My favorite in this photo is the fringed shirt of the older child. Funny.
My parents watched Hee Haw every Saturday night during the 70′s. It was excruciating. Thanks a lot, AFP, now I’m traumatized all over again.
Oh that’s bad. No …..that’s good!
Hee Haw was corny, but it was a heck of a lot better than Lawrence Welk! Good Night, Sleep Tight and pleasant dreams to YOU!
Adios, au revior, auf weidersehen…..Good Night!
I had to suffer through both. Those were my grandparents 2 favorite shows!
Yup! My grandparents 2 fav shows, watched them every sat night. Although I do believe they also liked the “Barbara Mandel Show.” good times =)
That’s adorable… and uber-campy! I’ve gotta say that if offered the opportunity to have my photo taken like that, I would definitely consider it! Maybe it’s because I remember the show from when I was little. Hee-Haw was such a curiosity for me as a kid…
I think I had those freaking overalls too!!!!
I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas any more.
The lady in the back looks like she’s “necked”…hehe.
I thought that too when I first looked at it. You can see the little bit of red fabric going across.
You mean “nekkid.” Just FYI.
Prove it.
it is actually “nekkid” according to the premier Southern authority of Lewis Grizzard, the writer and comedian. “Naked” means you ain’t got no clothes on. “Nekkid” means you ain’t got no clothes on and you up to somethin! LOL
…but seeing as how she is neither “naked” nor “nekkid” it is sort of a MOO point.
Wow…nothing screams Nashville like a trailer with a Tiffany glass ceiling.
“If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all….”
” . . . gloom, despair, and agony on me!”
“deep dark depressive excessive misery!”
ROFL!
Judging by the faces, you can certainly tell whose idea this was.
OMG do they have chickens on their overalls?
OMG! I had those overalls when I was a kid!
Me too! Mine were brown, though. I loved them. Should I be embarassed to admit that?
Not only did I have those overalls as a kid, but when I got too tall, my mom cut them off to may overall shorts!
Yup, I had the overall shorts!
I, too had those overalls. And so did my brother. So we could match. Now if I could just find some pictures…
I also had those overalls but in brown. They were my favorite!
I had one in blue AND one in brown. I remember the day my older brother threw up all over the brown ones while I was wearing them. They were never the same.
How could you tell?
Had the overall’s too, I called them my ha ha pants. I have a christmas photo of me with wearing them with Brady Bunch pigtails and a life size doll…I was five.
holy crap I those overalls too! what were our parents’ thinking?? I don’t even remember liking Hee Haw, but I remember those overalls…damn
And you thought Children of the Corn was just a movie
