To paraphrase Spider Robinson, “When did a naked blade become less obscene than a naked woman?” I agree the young man is not really old enough to look at such things but it won’t hurt him. And really, think of all the violence we do let our kids see. Consider the news alone and all the violence there. A photo or two in a Playboy isn’t going to ruin him for life. But it IS funny and awkward to look at.
My dad used to read (and I mean read [not saying he didn't look at the pictures in private]) Playboy in the living room. But, I never read the articles with him. I just snuck a peek (at the articles) when nobody was around. By the way frida, I am a husband and father who adores his wife and children.
I don’t see what the fuzz is all about. There’s actually quite a lot of articles in Playboy, even short stories, and not as much nudity as one might think. He’s very likely reading something to the kid.
Um, anyone notice the other arm in that photo? Apparently Mom is there too and is just fine with her little non-gender-specific child looking at Playboy with Daddy.
Way to go Dad! You’ve set your son up for a lifetime of meaningful connection, secure gender identity, and respect for women… This man is an idiot. God have mercy on us all.
My parents didn’t mind me seeing the girlie mags when I was a kid and they’re not idiots at all. They’re the two greatest and smartest people in the world to me. I am grateful they didn’t raise me to be a prude.
Is this supposed to be funny? If so, I don’t get. Maybe if it were the viewing pleasure of Playboy that they’re sharing… but it’s not clear, thus rendering it “unfunny”.
It’s supposed to be awkward (hence the website), which it is – the serious looks on the faces of father and child as they’re poring over Playboy (blonde woman bending/leaning over on cover) makes it funny too.
at first, i thought, “what is so awkward about this picture? it is a dad reading to his son.” and then i looked closer and realized they were “reading” PLAYBOY!!! LOL!!!
I thought…aww this is such a sweet pic…nothing akwa…wait they are looking at a Playboy together. Did I miss a vital parenting moment by not sharing a Playgirl with my daughter? lol

I thought the child was a little girl!
Dad looks a bit like Beau Bridges.
You think it’s quite normal until you see that the cover of the magazine says, “PLAY BOY”
i’m sure he reads it for the articles…
I think that is a little girl…makes it that much better

Spoken as one who knows a lot about playboy.
Ha ha my thoughts exactly. Very enlightening.
“The fuzz”?
is that OBI-WAN and a young Anakin?
LOL
Win
Could be worse, they could be “reading” Hustler!
Um, anyone notice the other arm in that photo? Apparently Mom is there too and is just fine with her little non-gender-specific child looking at Playboy with Daddy.
CREEPY! Sadly, I have a picture like this from my childhood as well.
Way to go Dad! You’ve set your son up for a lifetime of meaningful connection, secure gender identity, and respect for women… This man is an idiot. God have mercy on us all.
I’m sure the now some what matured child in the photo would love to have a word with/laugh at you.
Agreed.
My parents didn’t mind me seeing the girlie mags when I was a kid and they’re not idiots at all. They’re the two greatest and smartest people in the world to me. I am grateful they didn’t raise me to be a prude.
Little Kevin was shocked to finally see a real live naked woman…..she didn’t have a staple in her middle.
Did anyone else notice what appears to be a woman’s arm on the other side of the kid!!?!? Oh the awkwardness just keeps growing….
Thankfully it is not the braille edition.
Why is that daddy showing that little boy pictures of naked mommies?
Nothing says love like cuddling with your son in your wife-beater reading a Playboy!! Classy!!
Ohh relax..Playboy has a children’s section. WRONG!!!
Maybe, just maybe that is a “Cowboy” magazine… which make is sweet!
let’s hope!!
It took a minute, but HA HA HA!!!!
Is that magazine a Playboy?
“Dad just reads it for the articles.”
lol!
Amazing!
Reading Playboy?
OMG!! This would be a lovely photo (and I thought it was) until I saw the mag. Awkward indeed!!
Is this supposed to be funny? If so, I don’t get. Maybe if it were the viewing pleasure of Playboy that they’re sharing… but it’s not clear, thus rendering it “unfunny”.
No, it’s really funny.
IT IS FUNNY! ROTFL!!!!
It’s supposed to be awkward (hence the website), which it is – the serious looks on the faces of father and child as they’re poring over Playboy (blonde woman bending/leaning over on cover) makes it funny too.
That’s… a Playboy mag…. Well, this boy will be well verse in … girls.
Well, this explains a lot. *snark*
OMG……nice.
I’m SURE they’re just reading that magazine’s thoughtful articles.
LOL sorry, I didn’t see what they were reading. I should have known it wouldn’t be a nice photo!
Must be a darn good article!!!!
That’s not awkward. That’s a nice photo.
didja see the title of the mag?
“Son, we need to focus on priorities. And it is never too early to start learning what they are.”
“As you can see, priorities come in pairs….”
LOL!!!
Apparently Playboy IS good for just the articles lol!
It’s the articles, I swear!
Signed, Dad
at first, i thought, “what is so awkward about this picture? it is a dad reading to his son.” and then i looked closer and realized they were “reading” PLAYBOY!!! LOL!!!
Inappropriate reading material aside, is that a boy wearing a girls bathing suit?
It’s a tank top.
That was so sweet … until I saw the magazine. Now it’s just… ick.
Aside from the inappropriate family reading material, is that a boy wearing a leotard?
Are we sure that’s a little boy?
If that’s his daughter, this just got terribly creepy.
It was submitted by a chick, so it may well be a girl. Her expression isn’t exactly enraptured…kinda bored with a little ‘erm..’
Of course, a pre-pubescent boy wouldn’t be enraptured, either, unless he’s been told to act so.
I thought…aww this is such a sweet pic…nothing akwa…wait they are looking at a Playboy together. Did I miss a vital parenting moment by not sharing a Playgirl with my daughter? lol
A vitally gross parenting moment, for sure.
wrong on so many levels for so many different reasons… but I repeat myself.
Maybe he’s just reading him the articles.
Awww, how cute. Dad’s teaching his son about the birds and the bees!
It took a while but I finally realized what the dad is reading. Oy vey!
omg… YES!! this picture is just sooooo perfect.
well that’s just sweet!
Look at the magazine cover.
Ummmmm…..is Dad reading a Playboy mag? WTF?!?!?!
Awww… How sweet! But why is this awk… Oh. Oh my.
Maybe that is a farmers magazine Plowboy?????
brilliant!
That is priceless!!
Hilarious!
LMAO!!!!!!
