So many things about this photo are awkward and wonderful. A true gem, this one
The 70s! The haircuts!
The best part is that the mom has a really great, happy smile in the midst of all the awkwardness around her. Well done!
The dad reminds me of the dad from “A Christmas Story”
Arcade Fire : the early years.
Holy Toledo, Batman, I’ve been cloned! You could replace the next-to-oldest brother with the 1978 version of me and nobody would know the difference! Seriously, the kid looks like he could be my long lost identical twin.
This is my favorite family portrait ever, hands-down.
Love the look on the tallest son’s face. LOL.
me too!!
That ‘shut up’ could also be the beginning of a “cheese!” Of course I wasn’t there…I’m just guessing…
That baby looks like a doll. With a wig on.
God Lord did your comment make me laugh. Thanks for the morning giggle, snort and monitor spray.
C’mon Allison….what’s the story in this wonderfully apt picture. (By the way, everyone in my family had those glasses at some point or the other…how I wanted “Granny Glasses” instead!
If that were my family portrait, I would have that sucker blown up LARGE and hang it in my hallway. It would make me smile every single day.
I don’t get it. I don’t see any awkward beyond it being a 70′s photo. And what are the title and caption supposed to be referring to???
Look at Dad. This is probably the 6th time he has said “Shut Up!” The 2 tall boys are in on some kind of shenanigans. But it comes back to Dad starting another “Shut Up”
Love it!
Does that baby have a wig on?
Thanks for the laugh. I think that baby DOES have a wig on!

At the architechitural firm of course.
