“Mom, grandma, and aunt with fresh perms.”

“Yeah I know, and they’re white, too!”
Hey they’ll probably never go bald.
Thank you Brady bunch
Anyone who lived during the 70′s knows many people had the afro and yes, that even included men too. Most people carried around a pik in their pockets to keep it groomed. As for the clothes, there was a hell of a lot of polyester then, flared legs, capes and 3 piece polyester suits for men, colplete with the matching button down vest. Most clothes seemed to be in shades of light blue, brown and whatever wild pattern was in fashion during any particular year. And oh those wide collars! If you look at Ralph Furly on Three’s Company, THAT was the 70′s style for many men.
Love children of Bob White the painter? Wow!
Bob Ross. .. my husband and I loved that show when we were young.
I believe you mean Bob Ross
I was a beauty school student in the mid to late 70s and women really did do that to their hair ! Never seen it on kids tho. You permed it and put them under the dryer with the perm rods still in then used an afro pic on it. I don’t remember it looking good on anyone lol
I sported this sporty style in 1977 or so, to match my mom.
Reminds me of Disco Bear from Happy Tree Friends.
Every-day’s a good day to paint…
…We don’t make mistakes, we just have happy accidents.
Happy Little Clouds…
Happy Little Trees…
Laughing so hard, I needed a hit off my inhaler. LOL
OMFG, I literally have no words for this photo.
Looks as if the woman sitting down has some highlights in her hair. I wonder if the stylist put them in with a one inch brush while whispering, “Tap tap tap. Tap tap tap.”
Wow! If you squint a little, they look like matchsticks.
Talk about Retro! I LOVED this one… but probably in good part cuz my hair was pretty similar in the late 70′s- early 80′s. I had a “Fro, & it was reddish too. But mine never was that well formed. I don’t know how they kept it in place. I don’t think it was photoshopped; probably again, cuz I personally REALLY know that it’s possible to have hair that curly. (still do have it; just keep it cut short) And you folks are right; Bob Ross, who was such a neat & loving man… had the exact same hair.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE… curly heads or not!
Are those wigs?? come on!!! I almost sprayed my morning coffee out at the screen when I saw this pic! Agree with Carrie–can’t tell the gender of the kids! Lol
HOLY.COW!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the outfits!!!
Didn’t I see them on a Brillo Pad commercial?
Wow! This is AFP gold. Am I the only one having a slightly hard time guessing the gender of the kids?
At home with the Bob Ross family.
LOL, you’re right!!!
I wonder if they are related to Bob Ross.
I just want to know why it took you so long to post this pic? This should be Awkward Family Photos cover picture!!!! Priceless!
