How many pairs of shoes do you own? If you’re like 99.9% of the population, it’s fewer than this man, whose shoe collection rivals that of Imelda Marcos. To this day he remains an enigma. We don’t know his name, where he lives, how much he spends on shoes, or how many rooms in his house are dedicated solely to footwear storage. But we do know this: he knows his personal style and rocks it to perfection.
“My older sister really loved horses, and being the little sister and a copy-cat, I had to love them, too. We were probably 7 and 11 in this photo that I wish I could unseen every time I see it. This is truly a Halloween costume posing disaster.”

“My salute to Calvin and Hobbes. My husband thinks I need therapy.”
This may be the most dedicated marriage proposal we’ve come across. When Ray Smith, from Grimsby UK, decided it was time to pop the question to his pregnant girlfriend Claire, he decided to opt for the long game. For the next five months, Ray strove to take a photo with Claire every day, and each time he snuck in the words “Will you marry me?” The photos totaled 148, and she never found out.
“I searched online for unusual proposals and I saw ideas like flash mobs and that sort of thing,” Smith said. “So I decided to come up with my own idea to take a picture every day for five months.” Claire’s response? “I was totally surprised, but in hindsight it’s exactly the kind of thing he does…I said yes straight away, I didn’t need to think about it.”

“In theory, having everyone kiss was a good idea. Until the look on one of the girls face showed that perhaps we were wrong.”

Some people collect stamps. Other people collect license plates. Or coins. Or Star Wars memorabilia. Or vintage soda cans.
Stacy Waldman collects Dicks–vintage photos of people, places and things named Dick. As she told our friends at Flashbak, “I put them into categories. For example, ‘Big Dicks’ are adult men named Dick. ‘Little Dicks’ are boys named Dick. ‘Dick Destinations’ are places named Dick, and ‘Friends Play with Dick’ refers to photos of Dick and his friends. You get the idea. Recently, I added photos of Richards and put them into the category ‘Don’t call me Dick!’ I’m hoping to gather 365 photos of Dicks so that I can eventually have a desk calendar called ‘365 Days of Dick’. I have about 300 photos, so I’m getting close.”
Everyone needs a hobby, Stacy. Here’s hoping you find as many Dicks as you could ever want!
