Beating The Odds
“This is a school assignment I did when I was about to turn eight. I was excited that my friend Kim was coming to my birthday party. I also reminisced about something my mother had said to me when I was younger. Gee, thanks Mom. I loved Miss Smith’s response: “Why not?” My mother and I had a bit of a strained relationship to say the least. LOL.”

Skinny Dippers
“Every year for swimming my brother and I take a family photo for the team pictures, but this year the crop job and my hair made it look like we were naked.”

Hold Still
“I don’t know why my dad felt the need to pose for this photo with short shorts on and me, his firstborn, in this bizarre headlock. But he did. And it’s awesome.”

The Man In My Sunglasses
“We recently set our little pool up on a really hot day and I thought I’d post a photo on Facebook of myself cooling off. I thought I was the only one in the picture until a couple days later when a friend asked what exactly was being reflected in the right lens of my sunglasses.”

Frowny The Clown
“Every year my mom’s bowling league celebrates Halloween. If my mom looks a little scary in this it’s because this photo is one of several my dad insisted she pose for before leaving. Mom is not amused. I think she’s had just about enough.”

Land Of Cowpportunity
“On July 19th, 2000 we emigrated from the Netherlands to live with our family in Michigan to start a new life. In the Netherlands we milked 70 cows, but in Michigan we were living on a farm with 249 cows. More future for the boys that way. This was a nice calm cow.”

The Fabio Hoax
“Our daughter met Fabio at a Whole Foods when he was promoting his line of protein drinks. She asked for a photo and he was more than happy to oblige. We sent this photo out to friends and family with ‘Our Future Son-in-Law’ in the subject box, and nothing else, because, it’s Fabio. Who doesn’t know who he is? Surprisingly, more people than we thought as we started receiving cautious congratulations…”

Cracker Jerk
“My father was supposed to take my sister and I to get our pictures made. I am supposed to have on a matching jacket like my sister’s. He left it in the car and rather then admit he flubbed, he just told the photographer to let the picture roll. That is why I have my picture professionally made in a Cracker Jerk Tshirt. That and our mullettude makes this photo very awkward!”

The Mummy
“This is a photo of my younger sister, (mummified), my older brother, (proud as ever), and me (“I didn’t do it”). My favorite part of this picture is how, even though you can’t see my little sister’s face, you can tell she is smiling in a very “TA-DA!” way, and I can only imagine how proud she was to be our model. I don’t remember when this was taken, but I can look at the craftsmanship in the placement of the streamers, and the excellent color blocking techniques, and I know that’s my fabulous work – my brother must have been the project manager/supervisor. My siblings and I have talked about recreating this picture for our mom now that we are all in our 20’s, but it has been really hard to drum up this collection of oddly specific t-shirts.”

Don’t Forget Me
“Our poor Mom was simply trying to get a picture of her two Boy Scouts and I had to stick my big head into the picture at the last second. Ridiculous. The background is kind of ridiculous too now that I’m looking at it as a grown-up. The whole picture makes me say…’WTF?'”
