Dropping The Baton

“I had been excited all day long for my baton recital. My mom had gotten my hair and makeup done and I could not wait to get on stage. However, I did not know there would be pictures involved. When I was presented to the photographer, I was more than pissed. The face you are seeing in this picture is basically me saying ,’Screw you, Mom and Dad.’ And the hell of it all is…the photographer PICKED THIS PICTURE TO PRINT. My parents BOUGHT IT. My parents GAVE COPIES TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. It will live in infamy on numerous refrigerators, in many photo albums, and now, in all its glory all over the web.”

The Birthday Balloons

My 5th birthday in 1979. My mom is not known for baking or photography skills, as evidenced in this blurry snapshot of my patchy cake, fire displays and phallic balloon sculptures.”

Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

“My sister-in-laws, back in the day, couldn’t have been prouder of their snowman creation. I’m sure theirs was the tallest in town, and it is obvious they used every scrap of snow they could find.”
