Locked In

“I had a third-grade class assignment to illustrate a problem and a solution. My bratty four-year-old sister was my biggest issue at the time. Since I couldn’t give her to another family I decided locking her in her room would be the next best thing. I can’t believe the teacher gave me a red smiley face.”

The Artist’s Inspiration

“I was complaining to my daughter. I said I’m not the only person who uses the bathroom, so I shouldn’t have to be the only one who cleans it. This is a book she wrote shortly after.”
