Ghost Baby

“Mom took me to have my picture taken and this is what she got back. To this day we have no clue who the ghost baby is.”

Top Dog

“This photo is of my father-in-law, his sister, and their dog when they were kids. The dog was very loved by their mother and she thought it needed to be included in the background of her children. She loved the dog so much that he is even covering up part of her son.”

Lapbrother

“The fact that my sister is superimposed as a giant ghostly head distracts from the more disturbing details– like the fact that I am sitting on my older brother’s lap and holding hands with him, and that we also have matching glasses. I don’t remember a lot about the day that we took this photo, but I do remember thinking that my brown striped sweater was my ‘cool’ sweater and I insisted on wearing it. The fact that my collar had a longer wingspan than a bald eagle is a nice finishing touch.”

Old Town Dad

“This was totally the photographers idea after he saw my dad put on his cowboy hat. My mom always hated this one.”

Clark Kent

“This is probably the greatest portrait taken during the 1980s. It is of my older brother and he was clearly experimenting which look worked better, glasses or no glasses.”

Always On My Mind

“I came across this pictures of my mom’s family today. My Grandmother still thinks this picture is beautiful and doesn’t understand why people giggle about the awkwardness.”
