Spotlight
“My grandfather is a photographer and my great aunt is his assistant. This was them setting up for a prom or homecoming. We always take a picture to test the lights and this is what came out. That’s me and my little brother in the front. :)”

Field of Joy
“This is my husband and four children. We asked the kids to sit down with Dad to get their pictures together, but my daughter didn’t want to be in the picture, so said, “Okay, just stay over there.” I started to take the picture and she got even more upset for being left OUT of the picture. As you can see my husband was also annoyed!”

The Bee’s Knees
“1984, Green Bay, WI. I was in 4th grade and my Mom had decided to give me a home perm. That sweater with the embroidered bee & turtleneck was my signature outfit. And I was certain I looked awesome that day.”

Bachelorette Party
“This was my aunt’s bachelorette party! Not only does my grandma look beautiful, my mom looks mortified. I remember this guy showing up as a cop then my mom making all the kids go play in the back yard! I knew they were all up to something. R.I.P. Grammy I will miss you forever and ever! ”

Dropping The Baton
“I had been excited all day long for my baton recital. My mom had gotten my hair and makeup done and I could not wait to get on stage. However, I did not know there would be pictures involved. When I was presented to the photographer, I was more than pissed. The face you are seeing in this picture is basically me saying ,’Screw you, Mom and Dad.’ And the hell of it all is…the photographer PICKED THIS PICTURE TO PRINT. My parents BOUGHT IT. My parents GAVE COPIES TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. It will live in infamy on numerous refrigerators, in many photo albums, and now, in all its glory all over the web.”

Knit Pic
“Me, my mom, my stepdad, my brother, and my stepbrothers. My parents had those sweaters made by a family friend. I felt like an idiot wearing it at the time but looking back I think it’s hilarious. And I think my mom still has the sweaters.”
