Heads Up
“My Mother got a great deal on this family portrait, mainly because it wasn’t meant to be for a family THIS size. But we were all together, so she was determined to make it work.”

Blades Of Glory
“My younger brother in his ‘awkward yet fabulous’ phase. Please note the following:
1. Western-style shirt with Christmas-star-snowflake ornament….
2. One exposed skate (just to prove that you’re wearing skates?).
3. Indestructible plastic-frame glasses because, of course, the parents were worried about their child breaking the stylish/expensive ones.
4. Gold lamé fabric bringing out the most unsympathetic tones in the ginger kid’s skin and hair.”

Into The Wild
“This is my little brother when he was about 9. Not sure what is up with the forest animals.”

Lots Of Love
“This Christmas card outtake from 1993 perfectly captured me and my siblings mid-meltdown after a long afternoon posing for the camera. (We love each other nevertheless.)”

Pecking Order
“My mum, me as a little baby and one of my cousins behind us. This was my first Christmas and my godparents gave me this chicken as a gift. We lived in a 2nd floor flat and I was terrified of it so it had to go back to their farm. To this day I have no idea why they thought that this would make a perfect Christmas gift for me but it was the sweetest and most Slavic thing I’ve ever experienced.”

Love By The Lake
“We recently met and are newly in love so we took our dogs for a wonderful walk along a lake. Our first pic turned out pretty weird though.”

The Christmas Chew
“God bless my mom for keeping a straight face for our very 90s Christmas card while my little sister chewed on my face.”

Check Please
“Me and my brother visiting Santa (Christmas 1984). Betcha this Santa wished it was 2020 so he could be six feet away from me.”
