No Thanks

“This photo was taken at yet another un-thankful thanksgiving dinner. Or some other dinner where all four siblings were forced to squish on one side of the table to make room for their elders.  You can tell our joy by the looks on our faces and the empty wine bottles behind us.”

Pit Stop

“Family vacation around 1974. We drove all the way to California with my father taking dozens of rolls of film. By the time we did a swing by the Grand Canyon, we were all tired. We got out of the car and this is the sole photo my father snapped of us. We spent about 3 minutes there. Long enough for my mom to finish that banana.”

Takes The Cake

“My tacky husband just does crazy things, but I never dreamed we would have a photo like this on our wedding day!”

Santa’s Little Helpers

“This is a picture of my family taken in 1981. If you could sum up my family with a picture, this would be it. That’s me crying in my mom’s lap. My brother looks like he’s having a nervous breakdown. My dad isn’t taking anything seriously and my mom looks very tired from having to put up with all of us. And the creepy Santa, well, that’s just a bonus.”

The Longest Yawn

“My high school sweetheart and I were set to get married in June of 1995.  I called that wedding off, then we got re-engaged and planned the wedding for June of 1996.  Two weeks before that wedding I told my mom and my fiance I didn’t want to get married, but this time they would not allow it.  I went through with it, but I was not happy about it.  We had two beautiful children, but the marriage did not last.  We were divorced 8 years later.”
