Two In A Row

Two In A Row - Kids

“We didn’t get a picture of our son from the day before, when he evenly spread 25-30 pounds of rice all over the kitchen floor. The next day we checked on him while he was watching Cars 2, and this is how we found him.”

Martini Art

Martini Art - Dad

“Pre-K gems from art class. I bartended a few nights a week, and I was also drawing murals on glass during the day. My son brought this home from school.”

Single Motherhood

Single Motherhood - Family Portrait

“My Mom took me and my brothers to get our picture taken. The look on Mom’s face sums up what it’s like to be a single mother.”

Wanted Alive

Wanted Alive - Kids

“Our uncle was sick, and this is the get-well card my eight-year-old daughter thoughtfully created for him as he went to the hospital. Inspired by a children’s book of cowboy craft ideas, she made this ‘Wanted’ poster more ‘authentic’ by crinkling it and ripping off the edges. We kept this one, and she created another one that was a little more toned down.”

Movie Night

Movie Night - Dad

“The kids were having one of our regular movie nights. The movie was in 3D. I don’t remember what it was but Dad clearly wasn’t interested. I love that he’s still wearing the 3D glasses while he’s reading, though.”

Break Dance Frank And Friends

Break Dance Frank And Friends - Kids

“This is a picture of my breakdancing club. It’s origins are from Bellerose Queens, NY.  It’s the late 1980s when breakdancing was a thing.  If this doesn’t qualify as awkward IDK what does.”
