Elderly Sisters Still Bicker When Giving Directions

February 7th, 2017

They’ve been sisters for 97 years, but they fight as much as any sisters you know. While driving to a family event, Sheila had her video camera running, and it caught this excellent argument between her grandmother, (age 97, in the front seat), and her aunt, (age 102, in the back.) When the video begins, the sisters are already arguing over who Sheila’s going to drive around to do errands, but when Sheila takes a wrong turn, the gloves really come off. It’s the kind of fight you can only have after knowing someone for almost a century. Watch the video below.

Cartoonist Hilariously Illustrates The Unglamorous Side Of Parenting

Cartoonist Hilariously Illustrates The Unglamorous Side Of Parenting - Awkward Galleries

When Lucy Scott, an illustrator based in Edinburgh, Scotland, gave birth to a son in 2012, she found the experience to be an unending source of creative inspiration. She began drawing cartoons that spoke honestly about how exhausting and challenging parenting is for the moms (and dads). She soon had so many that the collection was published in the 2015 book, Doodle Diary of a New Mom: An Illustrated Journey Through Mommy’s First Year. If you’ve got kids of any age, check out this gallery, preferably with the accompaniment of a stiff drink.

This Gallery Of Vintage Clowns Proves They’ve Always Been Scary

This Gallery Of Vintage Clowns Proves They’ve Always Been Scary - Awkward Galleries

First off, if you suffer from coulrophobia*, this gallery is definitely not for you.

Children’s entertainment today is usually cute, friendly, cheerful, and above all an enjoyable experience everyone. Turns out, that’s something of a new concept. As anyone who’s checked out a book of 19th century fairy tales will tell you, vintage children’s entertainment used to be WAY scarier, and clowns are no exception. Our friends at Flashbak, who are clearly much braver than we are, have compiled this gallery of creepy clowns from days of old. Far from the goofy birthday party entertainers we know today, these “clowns” look like they just stepped out of your nightmares. It’s a miracle any of the kids in these photos grew up to be functioning adults.

*Fear of clowns, and not fear of Full House star Dave Coulier. (That gallery is coming next week.)

Dad’s “Gift”

Dad’s “Gift” - Birthdays

“This is my beloved father-in-law, George, who passed away in 2015.  When searching for pictures to post at his funeral, we stumbled upon this one.  It didn’t make the cut, and you can see why from looking at it.  George had a great sense of humor and 7 kids to boot, so the picture fits him perfectly!”
