Dad The Raccoon Hunter
“This is my friend Jerry, his two younger brothers, and his Dad. I think it’s pretty much self explanatory.”

Different Times
“My mother-in-law recently passed, and we have been going through the photo albums. I ran across this gem, her birth announcement from 1919. Her father was working out of state, so her mom sent this postcard. I am both amused and chagrined.”

Puberty Ruined Christmas: A Photo Essay
“My parents make my sister and me take a picture at the top of the stairs every Christmas morning, and these two were taken a few years apart. The first picture is one of the last happy Christmas morning photos we have, which my parents titled “A Very Merry Pre-Pubescent Christmas To You.” The second photo shows what happened to our happy Christmases after we became teenagers. They claim puberty ruined Christmas.”

Direct Hit
“This family portrait was taken during a beach photo session. Yes, that is a frisbee flying towards my husband’s face. Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured in the process, and we DID end up using this picture on our Christmas card that year. It just pretty much sums up our family in a way no words can.”

Lederhosen On Ice
“This is a photo of my boyfriend’s cousin. He has been an amazing athlete in most winter sports from a very young age. In this photo he is about seven or eight. I don’t know who forced him to wear this outfit, but when I saw it a year ago at their house, I knew I had to send it to you guys. He gave me permission to post this, albeit begrudgingly.”

The Wedding Cameo
“My daughter (will be 6 in June) drew this for me for my 6th wedding anniversary this past February. While we have never hidden the fact from her that I was expecting on the day that we got married, I never expected to have her make an appearance in the drawing!”

Wedding Bystanders
“This is a wedding photo of the extended family – and a couple of unintentional bystanders who didn’t bother getting out of the shot.”

The Color Of Anguish
“I was two and by brother was four. I’m not sure why I was in such a bad mood that day but I didn’t want to have my picture taken.
My parents told the photographer to take the picture anyway. This was the end result.”

The Poo Pit
“One morning, when I didn’t immediately wake up to see what my daughter (she was about 8 years old at the time) wanted, she went in her room for quite some time. She came back in my room and gave me this picture that shew drew of me to show me how mad she was.”

The Awkward Years
“This is actually a picture of my friend. She went through a very awkwardly adorable time in her life. Every time I’m upset she flashes me this picture. Enjoy!”
