You’ve Got Geisha

“The groom is my brother and the best man (who’s dressed like my cousin Vinny) is my husband in 1981. We have no idea why the photographer had them pose in front of a scary geisha doll and…. burgundy candles?? At least the candles on the wall matched my husband’s burgundy.”

Matchy-Matchy

This is my boyfriend and I at Central Park this summer. Obviously, no one noticed the matchy-matchy family on the right until later. Got a lot of laughs.

Wookie In Labor

“Friends used to nickname my hubby ‘The Wookie’. When it finally came time to giving birth to our eldest we thought it would be hilarious to take pics of me in labour with a Wookie mask on. God knows what the hospital staff were thinking :)”

The Jump Off

“I decided that we should all jump into the pool after our beach photo shoot while in Hilton Head Island, SC. Everyone was excited about the idea. The instructions– kick your legs to your butt so it looks like we’re jumping high (pool wasn’t that deep). Two weeks later we get pics back from photog and my sister looks like she’s being tortured! Her response: ‘Well, I couldn’t figure out how to jump while holding hands! And how in the heck is everyone smiling and looking at the camera?! I look ridiculous.’ Yes, sister, you do. but we still love you.

The Lemonade Incident

“This was the unfortunate result of a 6 year old’s spelling mistake. My daughter and my niece had the idea that they wanted to make a lemonade stand.  Being the innovative 6 year old she is, my daughter felt that it would be even better to make it an online lemonade stand.  Naturally they needed a great design and catchy name for their webpage… this is what she came up with. For a couple days, she carried this around to show everyone we know and each time she presented it I laughed so hard that I cried.  She kept asking me why I was laughing, so I just said that  it was because it made me that happy to see what  great job she did.  (I have a feeling that that website domain may have already been taken.)”

My Sister Is A Centaur

“My sister and I had this photo taken as a gift for our parents in 1995. Little did we know it would turn out to be an optical illusion. I’m the one in the black sweater and blue jeans, but if you look at it just right, it appears that my sister is crunched up in a ball in the front, and I’m the black-clad mythical creature in the back.”
