Grandpa’s Sacrifice

Ten Pack

“This is a photo of my great-grandma and all of her great-grand children. Sears must have been having a special or something because I (front row, pink dress) remember waiting in line for a very long time before it came for our turn to have our picture taken. This explains all the children’s bored/upset faces. It was miserable at the time, but now it’s a funny and iconic family photo.”

Photo Fracas

“Grandmother was taking pics at Sears with her grandkids. The boys were fussy and didn’t want to be there but the girls were great.”

White Wedding

“While looking through my parents wedding album I came across this photo. Apparently, my grandmother didn’t like the picture of herself.”

Cheaper By The Dozen

“This is a family photo circa 1997, of my grandmother and her grandchildren, (including me, the girl on the right in the pink dress and awful knockoff of the ‘Rachel’ haircut.)  Clearly, all of us in the photo are a hot mess, considering not ONE person is looking at the camera, and most of the small children look as if they were subjected to the clown from the movie It, right before the picture was taken.”

The Grand Compromise

“This is a photo of my husband’s sweet-as-pie Grandma with her great-grandsons. Grandma is holding one of our sons, and our other son is face down on the floor. He only wanted to be in the picture if he could be like that. Note that he does not let go of his balloon throughout the whole process.”

The Saboteur

“I just took a DNA test. Turns out I’m 100% that kid who ruins a nice family photo.”
