Family Portrait
The Little People
“I’m the boy sitting next to the two Umpa Lumpas (sisters), with my mom and brother right behind me. Soon after this fun-filled afternoon, my sister dropped a glass bottle of milk on my foot and I got 24 stitches.”

Then Came The Chicken
“My youngest brother refused to be in the photo for our church telephone book unless he could wear his cowboy suit. The accordion followed. Then came the chicken. I just get to be awkward because I’m in fourth grade and have a turtle t-shirt and a severe part.”

Little Drummer Girl
“This represents our one and only professionally shot family photo. It was taken at my elementary school and I was mortified to show up at school in a marching band outfit. My mother insisted. Naturally, my friends laughed.”

The Rennies
“This photo was taken in 2007 or 2008. I am the young girl in this my parents made me go to this renaissance fair when I was sick. This day was hot, and my parents made me wear all this old looking heavier clothing. That was not pleasant. My mom is not dressed appropriate for a family picture. My brother is starring away and my dad his smile on his face. What kind of smile is that? And he is wearing sunglasses… I don’t think they had those prescription sunglasses back in the day, Dad.”

Other Side Of The Fence
“Our photographer had the kids sitting on a fence posing for holiday photos. She asked them to pretend like they were laughing which made my son look ridiculous. So, his sister thought she would pretend to push him off, and then save his life to add a little fun to the moment. It didn’t really work out for her!”
